Presuming the sister paid for the burial plot, then that is who the vicar would have dealt with regarding the grave.0

If you and your sisters were not in contact with your father, his sister probably decided she would have to attend to the funeral arrangements, house clearance etc. As this was a burial, the funeral costs would be quite high and it is likely any savings he had would have been swallowed by them.
People are always wanting "justice" but in a lot of cases, there is no "justice" and I think this is one of them. Getting a solicitor involved will cost you with no probability of getting the answer(s) you want. If the sister refuses to communicate then I think you find that is itIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales2 -
I agree with the concensus OP. It must have been extremely distressing to learn of your father's passing in the way that you did but I don't think there's anything to be gained by taking any further action (in fact, it's likely to just make things more difficult). It's hard, but perhaps you and your sister need to find a method of closure (perhaps visiting somewhere you have happy family memories of going with him? ) and move on. Sorry for your loss.1

The OP is unlikely to comment more as they have edited their original post to exclude all details.1

I appreciate the Op might not be round to read this, but with everything, when you go to a solicitor, always think what outcome you are after (and maybe check with a close confidant if your expectations are realistic. That the Op and his sister were estranged from their father may be that they only saw the negatives, whilst his sister may remember positives. I also think it reasonable to view that you were 'owed' if you had an unpleasant upbringing as much as those who want to shut the door completely.I have an acquaintance who has an alcoholic parent, when they drink, it's almost better to cut them out their life until they emerge from that tunnel. As much for it impacting on your own mental health. Maybe not the best solution in an ideal world, if only we live there.May you find your sister soon Helli.
