Thanks, I appreciate that and will note it for future. I got as far as the landowner appeal but didn't get anywhere with that unfortunately, they just referred me back to Euro Car Parks. Next time I'll put up more of a fight, but the prospect of going to court or CCJs etc would seriously stress my wife out, especially since I was in the wrong (although, I would also agree with you that it's wrong to charge £60/100 for being over by 13 minutes)

Then why doesn't she name you as the driver?
That way, there is no need for her to be further stressed.

    Nobody is risking a CCJ.

Nobody will need to go to a court hearing.

She simply transfers liability to you as the driver

There is a transfer of liability email on the reverse of Euro Car Park letters I believe.

I'm curious, in car parks generally do you guys just never pay and always contest then? Or try to adhere to the rules, but only if things go wrong do you then not pay?

No of course not, that is not what this site is all about at all, and we say so, I always pay, I also search out the terms of engagement, I play fair with the land owner, it's PPC's that don't!

You clearly don’t know my wife if you think that would stop her being stressed by it 😅 but yes thank you. Seems like it’s much harder to contest than it used to be sadly, if I get anything in future I’ll do the contact land owner thing for sure though as a first thing to do, thanks again all for your help

It took you ten days to come up with that?

You are right, I don't know your wife, but come on... take over the show and protect your wife from her clear suffering.

But if you are happy for her to be the one facing a court claim as a named Defendant... carry on with your inaction.

You were the driver... take responsibility for your actions.

Sorry but of course I don't want her to face court as a named defendant! I protected her from her suffering by paying, she's happy with the outcome

Oh dear. So sad when we hear that people continue to do that, which is why scam PPCs continue their atrocious rip-off unabated

This is the very car park I'm dealing with. From January 2022 and I've just received my letter of claim which I will be strongly defending. Happy to go to court if it comes to that.
Interestingly I see on another search that this car park is now closed and is a building site, don't suppose that will make any difference to proceedings?
