Having both a stocks & shares ISA AND a cash ISA?

I've currently got about £35k in a cash ISA.
Next year I should be able to max out the £20k ISA allowance and I'm thinking about opening a S&S ISA. So...
Can I open BOTH a S&S ISA and a cash ISA in the 25/26 year?
Can I transfer the full existing £35k (plus the 24/25 interest) into a S&S ISA?
Can I "split" the transfer? i.e. Do a partial transfer of the existing £35k into an S&S ISA? For example, transfer £10k, leaving about £25k in my existing cash ISA and setting up a new S&S ISA with that £10k PLUS my £20 allowance for the 25/26 year?
Once I've put in set things up and paid in £20k, is that it? Or can I rearrange between the 2 types of ISA (without paying in additional money in total)?
Thanks!

Yes to all, assuming your existing provider permits partial transfers-out if you choose that option and that your new provider accepts transfers-in. Be sure to use the new provider's transfer-in process to protect the tax-free status of your funds.1

There is a sub forum for ISAs which could be worth a look through.

Just to be clear, though not relevant to the OP, yes, provided you put in no more than a total of £20k across all ISA's you open in one tax year (transfers from previous years don't count in the annual £20k)1 -
If you are opening an isa at the end of the tax year so march 25 is best to open a cash isa or stocks and shares?
and then at the beginning of the year April 25 if I start a new equity one - should i put the full amount or an amount each month to get to the limit?
my understand is that I can open an isa or isa every year with 20k per year is that correct?
i've 73p in a very old nat west one so should i just close that and start afresh ?
thank you in advance for any advise.0 -

It depends on whether cash or S&S fits your objectives better?

Statistically, on average it's best to invest your money as soon as you have it available (because the long term trend is upwards).

You can open and fund as many ISAs as you like as and when you wish but are restricted to paying no more than an aggregate of £20K of new money into them per tax year. You can also continue to pay into the same ISA year after year if you prefer, i.e. you don't have to keep opening new ones.

Entirely up to you, there's no obvious advantage of keeping it or closing it!
thank you in advance for any advise.1
