The 11 best places to donate old bras in the UK (2024)
Is the above any use? I think our local one might be Against Breast Cancer, it's literally a cardboard cylinder in a corner of work where you can drop off ill fitting or old bras.
I have a challenge for you - get in touch with your friend across the pond and sort out what's happening with the money! The chat will renew your friendship and you'll both feel better for it. What's more, time spent doing that is an excellent excuse for not doing something else on the list.
Mind you, the garden plans sound lovely. You will thank yourself in summer for any of those that get done. I'm glad you mentioned pruning rosemary: I need to look up how to do that.

I wear thongs all the time - means I don’t have to think about VPL. They are getting quite hard to find now - ones that go up to your waist I mean, not skimpy things that barely cover your crotch or cut across the soft bit of one’s belly. I will have a look at armature … 🤔😊

@Cherryfudge - that challenge did make me laugh - BFF and I talk or message several times a week - we are also very fluid with money with each other - its a 40+ year friendship! I keep that item on the list as a reminder to self that there are more important things than money - sometimes she owes me and sometimes I owe her - we usually sort it out twice a year but atm with her son and my husband battling to stay with us, we have not bothered!
ETA - thank you for the charity links - I'll have a look after coffee on the patio!

rt - I recently came across a 'bra bin' in our doctors surgery. It was a pink, hexagonal cardboard box - and it was for the charity that Cherryfudge mentioned 'Against Breast Cancer'. I even got a thank you from the receptionist for donating 🥰

@Cherryfudge - it's a grand old friendship indeed! her husband comically 'leaves us to it' whenever we meet up in person, as even before they were married he used to say he knew better than to compete with a best friend! I've know her for twice as long as my own dear OH and he too has not once tried to get inbetween the friendship! We are both very lucky that our respective other half's get along so very well that sometimes we feel in the way when they get started. Her son (my godson) who is now grown still greets me on whatsapp with a dutiful - 'hello aunty' - 'how are you' which I find highly amusing as he seems so put out and yet when he was a young one would reach out to me without prompting both in person and on calls as I was his first babysitter and he knew he could get away with far more around me than around mom&dad !
@Greying_Pilgrim - I went on their website and did a postcode address search for pink boxes near me and was well amused that the closest one to work was at a posh store in Mayfair and the other one was in Harrod's - I'd be too uncomfortable in either of those places to even consider donating 3-packs of bargain bras - 😆- the closest one to home in in the next village's convenience store so may pop by there one day just to see what they are all about.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Upcoming Grumble…
Mrs Plastic Grass made use of the 'right of way passage' this morning as she had noticed I was in the process of pruning and tidying the plants in it over the weekend. Given that it's been over a year since she last dared to, I was rather surprised to see her. She knocked half the winter jasmine off of the roof of the summer house whilst moving her garden rubbish from her back yard to the alleyway. No mean feat given the supporting wires are actually attached to hooks in the wall at the 8 foot level and she's only 5 foot. Once I noticed her purposeful carelessness from my dining room window, I went out and 'made busy' in the summer house with the laundry that is drying in there in order to keep an eye on her. She didn't have the backbone to meet my eye, or even say good morning. So I took it upon myself to stand in such a way that I could observe her whilst on my property and for that matter nice neighbour's on the other side. Low and behold she actually swept up after herself on neighbour's property and made a point to not touch my plants, which she never ever does, in fact nice neighbour has complained about her leaving a mess many a time! Heaven knows what she'll tell crazy Mr. Plastic Grass when he gets home from work, but given that he stood staring over the fence at me pruning on my own property over the weekend, he may be finding himself with a cease and desist letter as I've just about had enough of him! Luckily the lawyer we've engaged for OH's separate matters is around the corner and are a lovely helpful bunch!
ETA - nice neighbour just messaged to ask what Mrs PG was up to this morning - lol - poor thing has recently had a mini-stroke and does not need that aggravation! I've told her not to worry everything is in hand for now!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! What is it with people like that. What pleasure does she get out of behaving like that.

@beanielou - I have absolutely no clue what passes for brains with those two!
Neighbour across the the way calls her 'Queen of the Block' as she thinks she has the right to tell everyone what to do and how to behave. It seems I'm the only one at this end of the street who has ever stood up to Mrs PG publicly! Across the way has fairly well behaved older children but it seems that Mrs PG has found reasons to complain about each and every one of them in turn!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
