Haha - yes @beanielou - I am a fan of the mega list! and an even bigger fan of green check marks!
So mid-month small mortgage overpayment has been wrangled out of the budget. This year I'm keeping it simple and the extra payment equates to the monthly interest + a small tilly tidy as I love to see as many zero's as possible at the end of the number. My mortgage free date is currently November 2039 instead of September 2041. Atm there is no need to pay more than this as my mortgage interest is much lower than my savings interest, but come mortgage renewal in August this may all change!
Also a small win in having my owed money from work paid in record time - it's nice to be friends with the head of finance who didn't even admonish my tardiness with the claim. [On the other hand, she who shall not be named was disproportionately critical!] So that money will now be alloted to the correct budgets and I will feel a bit more settled with my forward planning. In an ideal world I like to have 3 months budgeted for, but it's been around 2 months since OH was diagnosed last August and we had to do some serious budget shuffling for a wedding & a funeral!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Delay Repay for the past month complete - another 60-ish pounds coming back into the coffers - and I was even on leave for an entire week of it!

£60 is impressive - and I think it must be untaxed too, mustn't it? And your head of finance sounds like a nice person.

haha - the work expenses were a heck of a lot more than 60! Almost a whole mortgage payment worth tbh! Which is why the Terror thinks I should hang my head in shame for not completing my claim and why MrFinance refunded me so quickly!
The delay repay is from SWR (seperate from work claim) - last I heard SWR still as tardy as they were before the g'ment took them over again! 60 is just over two days of commuting & those delays are a nightmare for me, honestly I wish I could claim for the emotional impact of being delayed for 3 hours! an umplanned 16 hours away from home in a day takes its toll!

Well today is a day of small wins (so far - lol)…
ALL the delay repay requests were processed and are on the way back to my c/c - less than 24 hours, I'm well impressed - total was 64.31!!!
Free flowers by post on their way to me…
OH sent me a bouquet to the office back in February, which our lovely mail-room guy brought straight to me but they were worse for wear, and it was not because they had been beat up in the post, they were packaged beautifully, it was that the flowers sent had been packed damaged. So as I do, expressed disappointment prior to leaving a review! Customer service was abysmal - and a month later they sent a voucher for the full amount (after I chased twice). Today, I decided a cheery bunch needed to be sent to the house, as OH has just started his 8th round of treatment (we are 5 months in - not bad given the prognosis of 3 to 12 months) so I've cashed in the voucher for a free bouquet which will arrived tomorrow or Saturday and brighten up the hearth.
…and the best one - only nice (work) people have contacted me for the past 48 hours - with please and thank-you peppering all the messages! I'm guessing that collectively they have finally taken on board my view that leading with kindness makes the world a better place!
So no money spent & rebates have been had - a very MSE day.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Replacement flowers have arrived and they are in perfect condition! Even the postie who delivered them said she though they looked posh. Told her packages can be deceiving and told her about last time. I'm glad this boquet is in our living room on the hearth so that OH can enjoy them too. The February bunch went to the office and what was salvaged from them were enjoyed by my workmates as I was wfh for many days after they arrived. I'm hoping that this batch lasts the full two weeks that the partial boquet did back then…
…and in MSE style, I've salvaged the three yellow sticker bunches from last week and the week before, amalgamated them into one and put them in the bedroom - all pinks and purples and quite pretty for something culled out of nothing.
Trimmings have gone out to the green bin, which is all fresh and sparkly clean as our bin wizard has come and gone! There are some jobs where it's just worth it to 'pay the nice man' & I love that their service is pay-as-you go so I get to decide which bins need cleaning and when!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
