Midwife Trouble!

I am a midwife and am sorry to hear of your experience.
One way of avoiding this midwife is to ask your gp to refer you to consultant only care. Good luck
What also needs to be considered is the post-natal element, where consultant care is not an option. I think all things considered, registering with a GP practice for maternity services (once the OP has checked that the MW that she does not wish to give care to her does not cover that surgery as well) may well be the option. This way, the issue may be avoided - I say may, as there will always be cases when us Midwives cover another GPs surgery for holidays/illness etc.
Another GP will not have any qualms about accepting you as a maternity patient, as they are paid for the providing ante-natal and post-natal care.0 -
I changed midwives due to a clash of personalities etc, I had one of the community team come to me at home instead.
I arranged it through the patient liason/head of midwifery as I put in a complaint and although only minor it was investigated thoroughly.0
