Debt Recovery Plus and Horizon Parking: Scary Letter
Comments

Bit of an update.
I have had the below letter through from Gladstones.
Despite Horizon confirming they have updated of address on the 25th November 2024, they still sent a letter to my previous address and performed a search to find me. I have been offered to pay £155 within 7 days (letter dated the 25th June but didn't arrive until 2nd July so already past the 7days).
Any advice? Ignore? Respond saying I won't be paying? Or (worst-case) give in and offer to pay?

Confirm to Gladstones the details of your current address and tell them that Horizon are in breach of the DPA2018 due to the fact that you emailed your current address to the DPO at Horizon last year, so they had no good reason for retaining or passing on your old address
Confirm that your present address is correct for the service of papers
Remind them that there is no keeper liability in Scotland2 -
The so called letter of 16th June 2025 is probably bogus.2

I am in Scotland so no CCJ possible, also I have written proof that they had my new details so I would like to think any judgement would get thrown out on the basis they served papers at the wrong address when they had no reason to.
On another note, Gladstone have somehow found my mobile number and are sending me texts to pay. Has anyone dealt with this? Same way? Ignore and stick to emails?1 -
Just ignore them all
You should only deal with paperwork that applies in the Scottish system of Simple procedures system ( usually from a Scotland based solicitor, or the Sheriff office )
A CCJ equivalent in Scotland is a Decree
