Hi SPCers, I hope you all enjoy a Wednesday and a very happy week!

Well done Hetty, and good for you in having saved some cash with your new pot. 😀

Good for you in your roadkill mummytummy!😄

Many thanks Ant, we're home now after enjoying it very much. I totally forgot to ask you as well as Siju but definitely intended for it to be the two of you, but whenever going away I mean it for the both of you.
I hope you enjoyed your time at Christchurch. I must agree the entire region is beautiful.
The only sad thing about the New Forest is that no end of Beech trees have fallen due to gales on top of gales, so to speak. Nothing like the amount there used to be some years ago, very sad. Still beautiful to drive around, but not the impact that autumn photos used to bring, thank goodness we have so many from years past. A brilliant £1.45 potted!

Ah another New Forest lover Jyn Erso!
Ooh that's a heck of a long drive to the Lake District!!
    £17.13!! 👏
We often used to go from Somerset to The Great Glen area of Scotland and even though we had stops these days it's far too far with my husband's back problems being as they are. We both really miss it so much though.

Be sure that the Declaration Date is the 23rd October, earlier if you like.....NO LATER PLEASE!!!

Hi LMD, a lovely weekend thank, and you too? An excellent £22.79 potted!!

Brilliant 85p added to your pot mummytummy!! 😄

Bad luck madlyn, if you've got a seam down the side, try squeezing and pushing it gently down the sides, it should work. 🤞

We had a really lovely time thanks Siju! I'm so glad you had a lovely time with your friends that you've known since you were all 4 year olds!! I'll bet there was a lot of giggles and laughter between you, a lot of oohs and ahhs when showing each other grandchildren photos too!! ❤️ Totally agree about laughter being good for the soul, the endorphins too, then memories of your time spent together. No doubt you've  your immune systems a lot of good!

I hope it is 10 posts needed before  new members can have a signature. I followed a thread started by a visually impaired girl who was looking for hers, MSE Steve certainly made it sound like around 10 were necessary. Mostly it's all due to spammers!! 😠 Such a shame they try to spoil Forums!

I quite agree about the potting start being a great one, I'm determined to up mine this time around.
Sadly we've lost a fair few this year, including little_sweetie, though she was having problems towards the end of last year. We've got each others email addresses so I'll get in touch with her and make sure she's alright.
Very well done with your £5 plus cash. Thanks so much for your help whilst we were away, much appreciated.

Brilliant with the £5 potted from an FB sale madlyn!!

Another £56 potted from your dice Challenge, LMD!! Excellent 😄

Ah another 5p roadkill Ant, as well as £3.50!!

Well done Hetty! As Ant says roadkill comes along when you least expect it, so keep looking!

An excellent october85!! Do please keep off the ciggies as you'll be so thrilled with yourself once you've quit!! I quit 26 years ago and would never, ever go back. I also used to run a "Stop Smoking" thread here on MSE and helped 31 others quit, they were so chuffed!!
Just remember that every time you get a craving, they only last seconds and will go off so quickly especially if you think of a lovely memory or your SPC Declaration on 23rd October (earlier if you like BUT NO LATER please)
Always have some small pieces of chopped fruit 🍓 🍉🍏 🍇🍍🥝🥑 and put it in the fridge so you can nibble some, it'll really help carrots too! Always have a glass of water to sip. Go for a walk and change your habits around.

All the very best to you and
start each day with the mantra
"I won't have any cigarettes today, but if I wish, I can perhaps help 1 tomorrow"
    "Repeat the mantra every morning"
NEVER EVER STOP QUITTING AND NEVER EVER LET ANYONE ENTICE YOU TO HAVE JUST ONE!!

An excellent £4 that hubby gave you from his pocket mummytummy! So very good of him 😘

Crikey Siju! Congratulations to your DD, I'm delighted for her, but by golly imagine nearing 9 months with their elder one and all her menagerie to care for!! She's going to have her work cut out, no doubt you will too!!
    No wonder you're both shattered!!
You will be too when you're finished at SIL's
You'll thoroughly enjoy your holiday though so have a wonderful time!
    Another brilliant £5 potted!!

Hi again skilly, it's wonderful to see you back on SPC 18 👋

Wishing you all a good Wednesday and very good week ahead!

    Sue

    Morning everyone!

@Sue-UU - I hope you had a good time away!

£6.50 potted this morning.  I had it in my head that I'd treat myself to a fancy salad for lunch today... but I managed to drive on by.  So, soup it is and £6.50 in the pot.

  • Hi all

£22.62 saved this month into my Plum account.  There's a bit of loose change in my money box but I don't count that each time, I just chuck it in.

Ebay has now changed their payment system, so any sales money remains with Ebay. On the one hand it makes it easier to track, and it means if I spend anything then it comes out of that money - I guess just like it did when it was in PayPal.  At least it saves me trying to track how much I've made!

Devastatingly we lost our beautiful Siberian Husky this week, due to old age  :'(  She was 14, which is a good 2+ years over the general age the breed can reach.  It was a kindness but the second-guessing and did-we-do-the-right-thing are horrible feelings.  We're both heartbroken, and I must admit I wasn't expecting DH to be hit as hard as he has been - he was even getting emotional walking past the pet food section in Aldi earlier. She was definitely a one-off.

In better news, his niece has just completed her course of chemo after being diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer earlier in the year.  The last we heard her recent scan had her consultant struggling to find the tumour so hopefully that's a good sign.  She now has to have a biopsy to determine whether she needs further surgery and/or radiotherapy.

Hope all are well - onwards...!

I’m sure you did the best thing for your beloved dog @MrsShazbat
Whatever you did you did with the best of  intentions and that’s all you really can do in these situations.
I sometimes wonder why we have pets when ultimately they break our hearts, but I know that the precious love we get to share with them is what makes it worth it.

Good heavens above LMD, another £98 in the pot, brilliant work!!! 👏

Excellent potting Ant!! You're doing so well so quick!
Very many thanks indeed re the smoking, but knowing so much about all the bad that comes out of it, I feel I just have to try and help wherever possible to free them from the scourge of smoking. I so sincerely hope october85 achieves her dream. I remember it was like having a noose around my neck!

Hi Vicky, we had a really lovely time away, just the 4 days, but a lovely break all the same.
Excellent on potting the £6.50 rather than giving to a restauranteur. I know they too have to really struggle these days, but we need to take care of ourselves. Try to take note of the of the recipe one day, it can't be too difficult to make your own fancy salad. All the best with one!

Many thanks Siju. Bless you both for your really lovely words. If ever I can help in any way I just feel the need to do so. Apart from that, with the quitting of cigs, I took notice of every single thing that I found helped me reach my goal and wrote them down just in case I could ever help others. Just after, I thought of starting a thread here on MSE.

I can certainly sympathise with you and your DH with the sad loss of your Siberian Husky MrsShazbat. I think we all have the same feelings you both did 'about did you do the right thing', my dear hubby still sometimes wakes in the middle of the night positive he heard her bark, and the times we still see her with certain colours on the carpet, very sad indeed. 😢
I suggested hubby bought a packet of treats in his pocket, all our friends around the village are still glad to have one or two given to their dogs and we've found it's a wonderful way to help us too, plus we give them plenty of cuddles, it's really helpful.

£22.62 from your Plum account is brilliant!!

Ohh fingers crossed that the consultant isn't able to find the tumour in your DH's nieces breast, especially if he also does a biopsy to double check. Hopefully, she won't need anymore chemo/surgery, maybe not even radiation!! Very best wishes to her for good health! ❤️

Wishing you all a really wonderful weekend! Keep as warm as possible!!

    Sue
