Oh dear goodness, I finally got to L!dls and spent an eye-watering £95.10 - and I've already subtracted the festive stuff from that! This was nearly all just household needs for November, and I'd thought I'd already got a lot of that at Sainsbobs... seems stocks of a number of key items had drifted down when I wasn't looking.
So I'm sure I'll be going over budget this month; I'd have just over £60 each left for the two weekend shops left in this pay month, but DS3 returns to the parental fold on 21st and that's an extra mouth to feed. (Thank heaven he seems to be eating more sensibly now...) ok, let's see how well I can keep it down, then.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5 -
I can never seem to find the creamed coconut but would prefer to use it. I too would just cut off a piece and add some water. And @joedenise I have a recipe book that’s actually quite sweary but they do say that light coconut milk is made by ‘cutting that #h1t’ with water. So much spending!Spends of a little under £19 at the coop in the newest town yesterday. I went in for tomatoes for my daughter to take to school to make soup and came out almost £20 lighter! However it did buy meals for a week, plus a bit of fruit, yogurts and some smarties which my daughter pleaded with me more. I wouldn’t mind but when I checked the receipt they were 80p which due to several yellow stickers was more than I paid for a handful of items which were actually of some use!Speaking of receipt, I rarely check them however I did for the coop to check the total cost for all of the YS items and found that I’d actually been over charged for 2 YS items and they put them through at full price. Luckily 1 I still have the packaging for but the other I do not. I will however mention it regardless. With the coop in mind I decided to cancel my Morrisons order so emptied my basket but never pressed save! So my order arrived today and I gave back a number of items that I no longer needed. Thankfully my driver was very nice. Then 2 packets of breadsticks within my order got smashed to bits so I’ve had a refund on those. Finally I needed all bread products as the ones I got from Morrisons were substituted with ones my son can’t have (soya flour is in everything!) so I went into Lidl to get those bits. Bagels, bread and ham joint.Total spend now £110/£153Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

No photo of the few things we bought at Asda last night. I did get a free bag of frozen peas which a very kind and sensible member of staff put on my swelling and bruised knees. Who left a wooden pallet right where anyone who was checking prices would fall over it?
Life has its ups and downs!
He has found the receipt, 4 leeks, 2 courgettes, 4 carrots, and ys pears, £2.74. and the free peas of course and bottle of water.
I do like our local Asda staff. Shirley, Mark, and Winston.7 -
£27.28 spent today on veg, cheese, olive oil, yoghurt and sourdough bread.
I'm trying to reduce UPF in my diet so it was all straight up ingredients. I'm not going to completely cut it out though as I think some things like bouillon powder and hot sauce would make me miserable to live without. If I can make it 80/20 I'll be very happy.
I'm up to £105.76/3006 -
Hubby did the shop today using the list I had generated - he picked up potatoes as an extra as he remembered we needed some for tonight's meal and also some pringles ( which I'd said to buy if anything on the list was out of stock) as we had a minimum spend for a voucher. Nothing was out of stock but he still go the pringles!
I've spent some time tonight reorganising the Christmas food stash and the other misc food so we know what we have. Snack box is full, cupboard staples are full so we should only need to buy perishables for the rest of the month.

Evening all,
A couple of spends to declare £5.20 on 4kg of chicken drumsticks from Sainsburys, £3.34 on mince beef from Asda (because l forgot to take the one l'd brought out of the freezer). Also spent £48.72 at Tesco this was nearly entirely on alcohol, which is not normally included in our food budget.
But there are exceptions, 😉 our favourites wines had a clubcard discount plus 25% off so brought 4 of each 😄 .
I'll go to lidl tomorrow for some actual food shopping.
Until then our new totals is £378.26 /£600.00
