I've now received a letter from ACI regarding my so called debt with Shop Direct! If I don't contact them within 10 days of the date of the letter (I've received it a week later so only 3 days left), they will send someone to my home address!! Any advice please?0

They will just be tracing agents such as Resolvecall, or Verify, people who work for a private company, the purpose of the visit is to get you to contact ACI, its really nothing to worry about.
They send these letters with deliberately short timescales, which are totally meaningless, and are simply designed to instil fear and anxiety within yourself, prompting you to make contact.
That is the sole purpose of all the letters/calls/emails and texts, to wear you down and scare you into contacting them, its not random, its all cleverly designed to do a job.
If they knock on your door, ask them to leave, or ignore them, chances are you`ll just get a card through your door anyway.
They possess no powers of any kind, and you do not have to engage with them, do not believe all the rubbish they spout.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. There is no guarantee that this debt ever belonged to you and communicating with the creditor will just encourage them to push you. Even if you owed it, it is possible it is statute barred or close to being statute barred.
These visitors have no more power than next door's kittie. Just tell them to leave. If the creditor has real evidence that you are liable, they will send it by mail.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I've just had a generic Voicemail from ACI asking me to contact them. As you've recommended I've ignored it and shan't engage with them.0
