unknown debt request from arrow

Hello, i had the same with Capquest over a debt in my maiden name which i have no acknowledgement over and must of been 18 years ago. I sent a status barred letter which a reply was received back saying that Opus are now the service provider and to contact them. Opus also found my email which i have no idea how. I have sent a further SB letter to opus by email and recorded post along with a 2nd letter to Capquest with a complaint that i have not lodged with the FOA as they have ignored the 1st SB letter and responded to advise me to contact Opus. I have blocked OPUS on email. Capquest ate unable to provide any evidence of this apparent debt and only very vague information on who they bought it from and when. I have been worried over this as i have been debt free for 10 years now and didn’t want this to effect my job or credit file . with the advice from CAB they told me to now log a complaint. seems they must of sent bulk letters out the same time .0

I’ve just gone through my junk email and found an email from opos. Shall I wait til I get a ‘letter’ through post or send a letter through post to them ? Any advice is appreciated as I’m now starting to worry. Who the hell are these people and what the heck do they want? How can I they send letters to people and not explain what it is? How have I never heard anything about this in the 17 years since I’ve been married?

They did the same with me i was advised by CAB /debt advice there no harm in sending a copy via email and to send it also recorded by post to stop other action. i did block the email after that as i didn’t want to be back and forth with emails. aparently once you have told them it’s SB they should not be demanding money from you.0

I've received the same letter as everyone else. I sent the Prove It letter then received a reply from Capquest saying that the account is being serviced by Opus. I ignored this letter then received correspondence from Opos last week offering me a 'final settlement' before they have to return my account to their client, Capquest. Any advice on what I should do next? Thanks in advance.0

Ignore. Let them return it to Crapquest. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1

I’ve had another letter from them demanding money even thought I sent a prove it letter on 28th feb. What’s my next step? Letter stating they are breaking such and such regulation and threat to report to ombudsmen?0

Likely computer generated, keep it simple, send a reminder that you sent them a prove-it letter, and you require a response.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
