unknown debt request from arrow

hello

we received a letter dated 11/10/2024 from a company called arrow, no idea who they are... the also had another letter inside from a company called opos..

both letters was claiming that they took over a debt on 1/06/2023 and say we owe a debt of £250 from Shop Direct (Carval).. that of we have no idea who they are aswell (google search if correct shows part of Littlewoods, Very, or ISME... that we have not shopped with)

is there any information regarding who any of these are and why we suddenly been given a letter of a debt randomly and what we should do?

Arrow Global are a debt purchasing conglomerate.

    OPOS are  debt collection company.

Arrow will have bought a debt in your name, and assigned OPOS to collect it.

There are a lot of companies under the shop direct brand name, mostly catalogues, the prove-it letter linked too above, should get you some answers, if this was identity fraud, you will have to tell them so, see what comes back and post again.

It might also be a debt for someone with the same name as you and they are sending this out hoping for a bite / to panic someone into paying.
May you find your sister soon Helli.

Stay off the phone, the call handler won`t know anything other than what the screen tells them.

Do as advised above and send the prove-it letter and don`t worry about it, stupid debt collection company standard threat template letters are not a reason to lose sleep over.

Had the same letter today saying I owe £196.30 but it can be reduced if I pay by 23/11/24 for a debt that I have no idea about.

It's in my maiden name I got married in 2005 so even if the debt is real it's about 20 years old.

Should I send the prove it letter or just ignore?
