LexisNexis (IIL) – Insurance Services - Multiple Searches on Credit Report
The company LexisNexis (IIL)—Insurance Services consistently searches my credit file. Between May 24th and October 4th this year, they carried out 44 searches on my file. They are conducting Affordability and Quotation Searches along with General Insurance and Identity Checks.
This has been going on for some time now, it started in March of this year and I have had multiple searches removed from my credit file already. I made contact with LexisNexis (IIL) – Insurance Services, to ask why they were constantly searching my file, however, they were unwilling to inform me. I was instructed to speak to the credit agency that I saw the searches on (TransUnion), and they would provide the information to them. Unfortunately, TransUnion is saying they are unable to ask.
Other than repeatedly asking for the searches to be removed as more appear, what else can I do? I want the searches to stop.

Do you use comparison websites? Are these hard or soft searches?0

They're soft searches.TadleyBaggie said:Do you use comparison websites? Are these hard or soft searches?
If you do quotes on a website, particularly aggregators like confused.com, they typically get you to agree to their terms and privacy policy which will state that they retain your details and will often refresh the quotes you did with them in circa 12 months time to try and win your business at "renewal" which means the searches are repeatedjashopkins said:Hello, I was wondering if anybody else is experiencing the same. I was also hoping someone could give me some advice.

LexisNexis appears regularly on my credit file, everything from insurance quotes to identity checks and AML. They do a lot of the legwork for all kind of fincos.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

They act as a buffer between credit agencies and two thirds of the insurance industry, who need that data at point of quote. Nothing at all to worry about, waste of time getting them removed as you're the only entity (other than the CRA) who will ever see them. Also - fun fact - your data was probably passing through code I wrote a few years ago

I was pointed to your thread as I had posted in the early hours about the same happening to me, although it’s only the one set of four searches dated just under two weeks ago (Affordability, General Insurance, Quotation Search and Identity Check.) I’ve never owned a car or had any other quotes in my name, so they would seem to have no legitimate basis to search me. If it had said AML, I would understand, as I regularly open savings accounts to get the best rates.
I didn’t know where to start to even get in touch with this company, as the details on the search lead to what looks to be a US site.

They have a section on the above page for "I am individual"2 -
Do they seriously have no contact methods but phoning them? I have phone anxiety at the best of times, never mind when the only explanation I can see is that my identity must have been compromised in some way. And judging by the OPs experience, they won’t even care. I am terrified.0

If you go to the section I said and click the bottom option which is something like I'd like to start a consumer request it will kick you over to Resolver and a dedicated webform to submit a requestKim_13 said:Do they seriously have no contact methods but phoning them? I have loads of them, up to 5 a month - they missed Dec 23 though. Only seems to start from July 23. The annoying thing is that they are being done when no insurance is due renewal. I could see the logic of some previous insurer or comparison site - although I have not used one for years - doing checks when an insurance is due but why every month.

This one? I haven’t seen any mention of Resolver anywhere, though it’s possible I’m missing something having had very little sleep from worrying about this. https://reedelsevierinc3.my.site.com/webform/s/?first_int_12hrs=&last_int_30mins=&hit_count=1DullGreyGuy said:

They want a bank statement or similar to submit a request. They weren’t bothered with checking everything was legitimate when they searched me!
They look like an absolutely diabolical company.Insurers and brokers will also search credit reference agency files when they prepare your renewal offer or make an adjustment to your policy. It is common practice for comparison websites to keep the information you give them and send you quote details a year later and, that being the case, this is usually explained in their terms and conditions. If none of the above apply, it may be that someone else has looked for insurance using your details.
If you do suspect fraudulent access to your credit file, you should contact the relevant CRA. See “How do I query or dispute the search on my credit file” below for further information.”
Surely the CRA can do no more than they have - they report facts and that is that LexisNexis searched me.
