How did they get your details to send the unrequested ones? Are they sending them randomly to people on the electoral register or something :question:
Exactly, clearly they don't send goods out willy nilly so at some point in their lives they have signed up to something but just hate to accept it.0 -

My dad (who's 90) ordered a London bus from them for £1.99, then got the 2nd (cheap) item in the series. He then asked me to ring them up and cancel it. When I rang, they said no problem, but the third item may still arrive. The third item did arrive so I rang them up. They sent a prepaid label and my dad sent it back. There were no real problems but I supect the third item was sent in hope that he might change his mind! They certainly didn't keep sending things!0 -
I`m afraid they`re still at it with their hard sell. A few months ago my hubby bought a bus on offer for £1.99 , no obligation to buy anything else .They then sent him 2 more models , he paid for them , i told him i would`nt have done because it was unsolitored mail etc , anyway this morning another one arrived so i`m going to email them and tell them it was`nt ordered etc and they have 30 days to send me a return label otherwise i`ll class it as a gift !0

I suspect that when he sent off for the first bus he'll have agreed to them sending him future models on sale or return, so I'm not sure you can say that it was 'unsolicited'.
(I was about to send off for a tram for my OH for £1.99, but when I looked it into it further it was impossible to send off for it without agreeing that they could send you other items on approval in future).0 -

No when hubby got the first one at £1.99 it did state no obligation to buy anymore0 -

Read the small print on the paperwork that arrived with the first model. It clearly states that you agree to receive more models on approval unless you formally cancel your subscription.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, it says that and it's true - you don't have to buy any of the further models they send you, you can just return them. but they WILL keep on sending them to you on approval unless you cancel your subscription. And they're not unsolicited, because you have said that you agree to them being sent to you at regular intervals.0 -
Sorry to bump up such an old thread but yes, they do send you items when you've asked them not to. I've had no bother with their trial '99p & £1.99' offers in the past, and would have liked to carried on ordering them as they're pretty good models for the cost. I bought the Eddie Stobart lorries, inc the 2nd one at £9.99 and cancelled no problem after that, but I had to OPT IN to the 2nd one - fair enough. I had no problem with them and no further items received.
However, about 6-8 weeks ago, I ordered an Eddie Stobart plate for 99p. It didn't arrive. I received an invoice - it still didn't arrive. I then received the first plate, addressed to my 4 year old son which no one has ordered - so how the hell did they get my son's information as he can't even use a computer! Last week, I received the 2nd plate and was landed with a bill for £13.00 (in my name). I still hadn't received the first plate in my name.
I rang Atlas, was on hold for 25 minutes, got to front of queue, they hung up on me. Did it again, on hold for 20 minutes, got to front of queue and they hung up on me again. 3rd time lucky, I got through to someone, she apologised for someone hanging up on me but then went on to say that the 2nd plates are sent automatically after payment is received for the FIRST plate. I advised I hadn't even received it, let alone paid for it!
I've sent them an email since, telling them to either come and collect it within 30 days otherwise it'll be placed into the bin and all further invoices will be shredded and not paid. I'd love to see them in court.
It may also be worth noting, that as of the 1st of June 2014, companies MUST have an 'opt in' option for further subscriptions rather than an 'opt out' option to prevent people getting caught out on these things - as per Trading Standards website.
I'm not backing down with them as it is NOT clear on their website that they keep sending parcels and if it is true that it's on the paperwork that is received with the first plate, well I haven't got a copy of it as I have never received the first plate that I was ordered and I wasn't bothered chasing them for a 99p piece of tat (if the other ones are anything to go by)!Smoke-free since 7/12/2011 :0)

When I had collected I told them to stop sending anymore
And that's what they did straight away0
