I have been receiving Atlas Editions Atlases for the past few months, and though the quality of the product is good, the content is full of errors and inaccuracies. I contacted Customer service at 1-514 355 3334 and got a live person on the other end. She acknowledged my concern, but since they (her company) was essentially a brokerage firm. there was little she could do about the errors, but to give me a credit on my next invoice. I then cancelled my subscription. The contact information in addtion to the number above which I believe is accessible only from Canada, but you can try it if you feel lucky.

Believe me these people never go away, they just lurk in the shadows for a few months waiting to pray again on the elderly & vulnerable, they are sharks. My partner & I have been trying to stop them sending stuff to my Dad for two years. We have returned stuff, threatened then with legal action & all sorts. It all goes quiet for a few months & then they start up again with another catalogue. We have had planes galore & those terrible cheap tinny pocket watches.
It has been quiet this time for a good six months, since my last spat with them, when on Saturday I noticed a telephone number on Dad's caller display it was 02053334444, needless to say you could not call it back. The Who Calls Me website http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Calls.aspx/020/m says it is suspicious but they don't know who it is, I think that telephone number is Atlas Editions. Dad couldn't remember who had called him 3 hours later, as he has dementia. (They have been told that in a letter, but I think it made them worse)
Today a new catalogue arrived, time The Historic Motor Museum Mint. Dad had already ordered from it before I found it. H will not remember ordering & probably will not want the replica James Bond car when it comes. Then we start again on the merry-go-round of monthly parcels, forgotten payments etc etc. Going to make sure I nip this one in the bud early.
I think I will get my partner to phone up & pretend to be Dad & tell them he has moved & give our address & phone number as belonging to him. If they want to phone our house they can, bring it on.
I know it is now 16 months since tincat posted & they probably won't read this, but they did not over react, do think the worst of this company. I hope they did get rid of them that easily, they were luckier than me.
As for Readers Digest they are worse, if that's possible, the only way you get rid of them is to die.
And yes I do have Dad registered with the telephone & mail preference services.0 -

I'm still getting their mails for my mother who died a year ago and I informed them immediately.0 -
I thought Readers digest was a scam anyway, we always get rubbish from them through.0

I too have had nothing but trouble with Atlas. I bought some of their 1:72 scale aircraft models, which are quite nice but not as good as Corgi or Altaya, the props don't spin. HOWEVER their accounts and customer service are AWFUL, TERRIBLE, ABYSMAL, APPALLING, they are too bad for words. Even though I sent all cheques off promptly and they showed up on my bank account, they kept sending me letters threatening legal action. I emailed them, sent them letters, and spoke to them on the phone and asked them not to send me any more stuff and even though they agreed that my account had been paid off, they are still sending threatening letters.
DON'T BUY FROM THESE AWFUL PEOPLE, it is not worth the hassle.0 -
Strong 3 year old thread resurected from the depths of MSE forums ....Owed out = lots. :cool:0

I have really had it with Atlas Editions, I'm totally fed up. Here is a copy of my latest reply to them.
"I have received yet another demand for payment. I have had nothing but trouble from Atlas. Last year I received an email from you confirming my account had been paid off. I spoke on the phone to one of your people and she said she will write off the last unsolicited item you sent me. I have emailed you, sent you letters and spoken to you on the phone and still you continue to harass me. Since you don't respond to courtesy, I don't want any more of your rubbish. Anything I receive will be considered an unsolicited gift or a scam and will not be paid for. You want to take me to court? Bring it on, I will rip you apart."
I am now waiting for their reply.0 -
Biggles
Is this company chasing you for payment of something they've sent to you?
Or are they continuing to send goods to you after you've told them to stop?
Do you still have the copy of the email confirming that your account was clear?
Did you write and tell them that you no longer wanted them to send you any more goods?0 -
I started receiving the planes, they are nice, but quite costly.
We managed to cancel without a problem, I can't remember how now though. This was a while ago, so the customer service may have deteriorated by now.0 -
Pollycat, yes to all your questions. I had paid for all the models Atlas Editions sent me, it showed up on my bank statements, then they started making demands for what I'd already paid for. I sent letters, emailed them, phoned them told them I don't want any more of their stuff and finally I got an email saying that my account was clear. I thought it was over, then after several months they sent me more models, unfortunately my young son answered the door and accepted the parcel, otherwise I would have refused it. I phoned them again and they said they would not be charging me for it. Again I thought it was sorted, now they start sending more payment demands again. Yes I have the email saying my account was clear but these people never stop harassing me. I now want them to take me to court, I’ve got the paper trail and I’m seeing red. I’m very, very angry and I’m going to spread this story all over the net as much as I can.0
