Best Solar Tariff

Can anyone point me to a guide on the best solar import/export tariffs? We've just had panels installed and it seems to be a minefield. We don't have an electric car so just want a decent rate for import and export. Thanks

Octopus have the widest range of tariffs. You need a smart meter to get the best deals.

A list of SEG rates is available here (I don't know how up to date or accurate it is):

Seems pretty easy to get at least 15p for export with most of the top suppliers, but most (all?) will probably require you to be with them for import too to get those rates, so you need to consider the overall package.

Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter

I think Octopus give the best export rate of 17p per kilowatt. Over the summer they have been paying me more than I paid them so now I have a nice credit to keep me warm in winter

That's where we're getting confused. Plenty of the headline rates for export seem attractive but I bet they'll charge more for import.

Not necessarily. You could be on Octopus Agile or Tracker, which are both normally cheaper than SVT,, for imports, and on their fixed export for the solar.

You haven't said if you also have a battery. That will influence which tariff might suit you best.

Good point... we don't have a battery

Which export tariff gives you 17p?
