Holiday inflation.

Omg, I simply cannot believe how much holidays have gone up in price for 2025. I'm referring to ones run by your operators.
Same week as this year is 40% more expensive for same hotel/flight.
Compared to last year prices are 70% more expensive.
Yet.....my annual snowboarding trip which I sort out separately remains roughly the same.
The cynic in me detects something's going on!
Does anyone have any knowledge of what's driving these increases?

For the two weeks we're looking at there are loads of holidays around £650pp so not seeing much of a mark up based on what we paid this yearMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...1 -
I've been looking for 2 months now and whilst they fluctuate they still seem much more expensive. Maybe I just got good deals previously!0

Just out of interest I checked the hotel in Crete we booked last year.
The room was £1200 and is now £1700 for the same week.
Two points.
I did not book this early ( it was in February)
Sterling is stronger now vs the Euro, so this should have made it cheaper.
Otherwise I do not know why it has gone up so much .1 -

Not in the last year (and an exceptional location for this kind of thing) but we stayed in a hotel in Barcelona in 2019 for 5 nights in early September and paid £485.
We visited there again in September 2024 The exact same hotel on the exact same dates (give or take 1 day), room only, no meals included, is now asking £2,380!• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

They've been increasing sharply in most places since end of Covid restrictions2
