I've opened a club Lloyds account and initiated a switch from a chase account, which has three DDs recently set up and showing as "pending" in the Chase app. Only one will have actually had a payment taken before the switch completes. Feels like a small risk but I'm fairly confident these count as active DDs and I'll get the incentive payment. And the DDs will hopefully all transfer fine and work from the Lloyds account (they better do, as one is to pay a credit card...).

Myself and hubby. have a Club lloyds silver joint account.  Lady in Lloyds says we could open two sole Club lloyds accounts in sole names and transfer a donor  account in sole names into these new accounts to qualify for the offer. We cannot manage to do this online and it says we can go into branch to do this, which is a bit time consuming at the present time. Has anyone any experience or thoughts on this.

This is because you already have a "club" account and you can only hold 1 account with "club" status at a time without a branch visit. You need to downgrade your existing account to a regular Silver account first, which you can easily do online. After that (it might take 24 hrs to update) you should then both be able to open a new Club Lloyds sole account each without issues.
  • £200 received yesterday :)

I am switching a Chase account with three DDs, only one of which has taken a payment already, the other two were set up recently and show as "pending" in the Chase app.

The switch is not due to complete until Monday but the incentive received yesterday.

I like the Lloyds experience so far, feels like a modern app (although it seems you have to log out and in for the balance to update). I have opened and using the regular saver.

I might as well give it a go. I've got a Halifax account sitting around as a donor. I can't see anything in the T&Cs that says it can't be a switch from the same group.
I have bonuses from both Halifax and Lloyds since 2020, but I might get lucky.

Let us know if it works out, I'd be very surprised if it did tho.
Switch completed today. Given the above post (and previous experience on how quickly Lloyds pay out) it's looking like a no.

Despite our local branch arranging a video call, we still can not open two individual club lloyds accounts as the system won't allow us to do this due to having a joint club lloyds silver account. The website advises us to go into branch to open a further club lloyds, but the branch refer us to an advisor. We are going back and forth and getting nowhere.
Can anyone suggest anything else to try and solve this. We don't want to close the joint account down as it would be too messy rearranging mobile phone insurance and breakdown cover etc.

You can change your joint Club Lloyds Silver account to a standard Silver account. You will then be able to open a Club Lloyds account each.

In the app, go into your account and click the three dots at the top right, scroll down to "manage account" then "change account type" and select silver account.

Once the system updates your account, open the Club Lloyds accounts.

I'm going to do the same as soon as my third direct debit is live on the doner account.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I can see the only difference between the club lloyds silver and standard silver account is the lifestyle benefit. Earlier today I called in to the local branch and they advised me that they will try to make 2 appointments to open the 2 individual club accounts. Will see how we get on with this and at least now I know of your alternative. Thanks again.
  • I will be making use of this switch offer next week. The £200 is well worth it and the Regular Saver allowing £400pm is a great proposition to add to my NW reg saver and FD reg saver (£150pm and £300pm respectively).

I had a spare current account with NW that I really don't use now so it makes sense to utilise it for a switch, the only issue I had is not having 3 direct debits but I had checked out my options and decided to just use the 50p direct debit website. I know that its not completely MSE as I am in effect paying someone £1.50 for the privilege of 3 DD's but they are set up quick and allow me to not mess anything else up or cost a charity unnecessary money.

Seems fairly positive from what i've read so far about timescale of payment received, it appears Lloyds commit to 10 days after the switch for payment which is far quicker than some others (I had to formally complain to FD about their breach of contract with their timescales!).
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

  • Have you checked out Plum and Moneybox DDs, you get to keep all the money. PayPal is always a good one too. I have 7 with them for different banks.
