    Lidl, Aldi, Netto ;)

Aldi's is my personal favourite - just seems a bit better quality in my area. I'm a complete convert! All those years of shopping in Waitrose make me feel so dimwitted lol. Paying £1.19 for a bag of carrots instead of 29p. Jaysus!

  • You've probably done this already, but look at what you've got in and plan meals for as long as supplies will last. You should get some picture then of what you absolutely have to buy if you go food shopping. You might find you don't need more than just basic items like milk bread and veges/fruit if you plan carefully.
I'm sure you can do it :D , at least you've got the time, that will keep you out of trouble (and shops:rolleyes: ) for a while!

After reading this I spend way to much on food! (especially considering I don't work!) But that's not what I was going to say...

We live close to an animal shelter (RSPCA) and you can just go in and say you would like to walk a dog. Then you can take a dog which needs it a walk. You get fresh air, a free outing and the feeling that you have done something good with your time. I believe that most animal shelters do this.

As for board games; I make my partner play! We both spend so much time on computers, tv, game consoles etc that its really good to sit down and have a banter whilst playing. I would keep an eye out on freecycle if I were you! :) Hope it all goes well :)

ok quick question i normally shop at asda but am going to try somewhere new this week and want to spend as little as possible i have a Lidl and Aldi nearby but don't know which is better what do you guys think?

Patchwork cat..do you have enough food to last til then? anything in the freezer? how many of you are there?
  • Hi
I do have quite a freezer full, but will still have to get some things eg bread, milk, veg and fruit. I will have to use either a credit card or overdraft and pull back next month to clear it. (which I probably won't do as it is tight as it is- although it is all relative) There are 4 of us and lots of animals.

My only ideas for you patchwork cat are to use a menu planner. Make a list of everything you have in the cupboard, fridge, freezer and veggie rack and then figure out anything you can make from them. There's some good cheap recipes on this board so check those out as well. Other than that are there any things you have to sell and have been hanging onto, if so use this as a time to declutter and make a bit of cash, car boots are great and ebay of course. Keep smiling!
