Old boiler beeping - what does it mean?

I have an old Ideal WLX CF40 boiler. It probably should have been replaced years ago but following ill health and redundancy I have not managed to do it. But it has always been reliable.

Now there is a chirping sound coming from the boiler and I have no idea what it means.

Can anyone tell me what this means? Is it safe to run the boiler?

It could be a number of things. Faulty boilers can be dangerous I would not run it until you have had it checked by a heating engineer. When was it last serviced?
  • Since you have posted in the Heat Pumps section I can only tell you that it means that it is time to replace your boiler with a heat pump.  Try posting to the main Energy section and you are likely to get more responses.

Indeed, and either the ECO4 or Boiler Upgrade Schemes may be able to help with the cost of that.
