Wasn't it Nationwide who took the mick in their adverts a while back about companies only offering good deals to brand new customers only?1

The last provider I remember a doing that was TSB, who on more than one occasion promised their headline Classic Plus interest rate was not going to be taken away after a year ('unlike others') - but then removed the interest rate after not much more than a year. The Nationwide adverts in the current campaign have been about branches and interest rate transparency. FlexDirect has had an introductory interest rate for many years.0

2006, and about mortgages... and at least 5 years before FlexDirect even launched! Cut 'em a little slack...

It was tongue in cheek. The internet isn't the best forum for expressing this I accept.
I have no beef with Nationwide, I use them as my main bank account and am more than happy with their service. Been a customer for over 20 years.

I'd be interested to learn how effective the restriction on cash-like transactions is tho.1 -

Hopefully some brave footsoldiers can give it a try and report what they find.
