DCB Limited - Notice of Debt Recovery

Hi All,

I have read the newbie post and some has gone in, i’d like to think I have a okay general understanding of what to do but not sure at the stage im at about how I should or if I should fight it.

I have got the standard ‘Notice of Debt Recovery - £170’ from DCB Limited , not legal.

I got it from a gym I go to as they share the land with another export company who the rule is that you can park after 5pm, which I did come after with evidence of a picture i took in the gym at 7:30pm (timestamped), and the other condition being you have to put your licence plate into the parkingEye system. Here is the issue, 99/100 it all works fine but some days the system is down or its just calibrated really craply so on this day the system was down. I have gone to the company who is the ‘client’ of DCB Limited and they seem a bit reluctant or lazy to do anything about it… Just reaching out for a bit of help on this matter as I genuinely feel like I have grounds to not pay these thieves.

Many Thanks!

  • ++ to just give a little more context.

This ticket dates back to July. I never received anything I don’t believe until the 2nd £100 letter had come through in which at the time and usually always, I give the ticket to the gym and they sort it for me. Turns out they didnt sort it this time and thats why it has got to this point.

I have also called the ‘client’ of DCB Limited and they seem to think they can’t ring up at this ‘bailiffs’ stage to cancel the ticket and it is entirely up to me. In my head their willingness to cancel but belief they can’t would mean that if DCB Limited requested if they took this charge further (i.e. to court) that they would basically say no. But this part of the whole ticket process I have little to not idea about.

Stop phoning DCB limited they're feeding you inaccurate information trying to scare you into paying. Best you have a read of the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement thread on page 1 lots of info and how best to deal with debt agencies..ignore.
Complain to gym again ask why your pcn wasn't cancelled and check your V5C does it contain your current address.

Sorry misunderstanding on my part. I havent called DCB Limited, I have called the company on the debt notice whos land i parked on. They are willing to cancel it but they have told me that they cannot cancel it and apparently ‘have already tried to call DCB Limited’, and the response was that its gone to debt collection stage so nothing can happen.

and about your 2nd point I have complained to my gym but they said they cant do anything about it as its up to the company I phone whos land I parked on. I tried to get the company whos land I parked on to send me an email saying they want to cancel it and I was going to send to DCB Ltd or ParkingEye. Not sure what to do.
  • ++ sorry for another msg but my V5C does contain my current address, thats where the letters have been coming to but I only received the 2nd £100 ticket.

Why are you hiding the company names here, there's no point.
Is "the company on the debt notice whose land i parked on" a PPC? If so I very much doubt it belongs to them?
Also if you have it in writing they are willing to cancel it tell them to do so when their benign debt collectors hand it back as not collected!

Apologies thought that the Tenby Exports and Imports ltd were the clients in this circumstance. They seem reluctant so not sure what to do here, dont really want to go to court but will if i have to
