HI @Inforapennyinforapound - yes as you say you can read all of MSE's content without an account.
There's a bit of info here about what an account lets you do, particularly with the app: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/site/the-moneysavingexpert-app/#0151228962
It also lets you 'save' certain articles or guides via the app to read later, perhaps on a bigger screen device etc, or just for easy reference on any device.
The MSE account is also now integrated with the Cheap Energy Club and Credit Club, the idea being to make things less fragmented between different bits of MSE than they have been in the past.Official MSE Forum Team member. When I search for moneysavingexpert.com on my iPhone now, I get a pop-up screen which tells me I have to login. This is very annoying, since I know I can eventually reach the site via several other clicks, without having to login. I just want to read the website. Why is it now guarded by the pop-up screen? Even worse, why can't I use the username or email and password I have for the forum? From my point of view this is the opposite of seamless and makes life more difficult.0

Hi @Arthurian - sorry to hear that. I'm not totally sure what type of pop-up you're referring to - would you be able to share a screenshot? It's not absolutely clear from what you say whether this is something from MSE's side, or your device / browser is trying to be 'helpful' by prompting you to log in.

Perhaps it was my phone trying to be helpful, but the problem has now disappeared. I search for moneysavingexpert.com, and I can access the website without having the pop-up screen and without having to log in. Thanks.0
