It's certainly malware embedded somewhere, give malwarebytes a go if you haven't already

Have you tried reset settings in Chrome?

If above doesn't work  try adding Google manually.


Where it says Site Search click Add to the right

Fill in the boxes as above the URL is https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%s
Save it

It should now look like the first picture with Google UK under Site Search
Left click the 3 dots to the right of Google UK  and click on Make default
It should then have moved to Search Engines and be the default

Tried both, but still no luck. However, I've just noticed when I type in the browser, it flashes up "search-redir.com", but I can't find that on my PC

So when I type in searchscr.com, it brings up Microsoft Bing!

Fixed it. Mistyped the URL for Google. Thanks for all your help!
