Looking to change my Volvo V40 to a Ford Mondeo? Worth it?

Hi all, I have a '18 plate Volvo V40 diesel manual. It is well spec'd and hasn't given me any issues in my 5 years of ownership. I do a lot of motorway mileage (average around 50 mpg using brim to brim calculation) and although the seats are fairly comfortable, I find that the cabin noise can get quite loud, especially speeds over 70mph. I don't think the cabin noise is any worse than the class of car, but the 18" alloys with low profile don't help I suppose.
I am potentially looking to change to a slightly bigger car, one that us more suited to motorway cruising with minimal cabin noise and also an automatic.
I have come across a '19 plate Mondeo diesel automatic with good service history and high level spec - Titanium edition. My question is whether changing over to the Mondeo will give me more of what I want? Lower cabin noise intrusion and more of a comfortable motorway cruiser over long drives?
I should mention it is the 2 litre diesel with 180bhp. How are these cars for reliability? Will the gearbox give me any issues? The Mondeo I am looking at has had its gearbox oil changed only last year.

I have a 2018 Mondeo estate Vignale.
It's great to drive. I think it has acoustic glass to reduce noise as well.
Comfy, economical and we'll specced. Massage seats, heated, cooled.
Can't fault it. It's on 55000 now and I have had it two years.
Great cars.👍1 -
did you sell the Yaris, Porsche and M4 ?6

Leaving the weird fantasy stuff aside, I'm not sure a Mondeo is going to be any quieter on the motorway than the Volvo. It's a bigger car though so should be a slightly more comfortable cruiser. If you want the space and automatic go for it.Why not test drive it on a bit of dual carriageway or motorway? The obvious answer to the car being a bit noisy over 70 is to keep the speed at or under 70. You'll save a fortune in fuel, will be more relaxed and will take barely any longer to get to your destination. You'll also be a lot safer if you don't have any rear brakes0

I might be better off waiting and upgrade to something more worthwhile like a Merc E class diesel automatic0 -
This time last year you had a yaris. You've now had a volvo for 5 years.
Why are you doing this?6 -

No-one on here cares if you have an E class, which is an odd choice for someone worried about running costs. It'll be comfortable but it's also a couple of classes about what you're looking at.
Of course, given your alleged history, no-one believes you or will believe you.
You also don't actually accept any advice given, so it seems to just be to brag to a bunch of strangers who don't care and don't believe you. Why are you wasting your own time here?

I’ve never owned a Yaris? Don’t understand the issue here, I am taking advice onboard but it doesn’t mean I need to follow it!0
