Looking to change my Volvo V40 to a Ford Mondeo? Worth it?

I have had a few Mondeo's and found them all to be excellent, comfortable and safe motorway cruisers. I never noticed noise intrusion to the extent of distraction. The Titanium trim will have all the equipment you could want really. A diesel automatic should be very relaxing to drive on long motorway journeys.raptor2004 said:Hi all, I have a '18 plate Volvo V40 diesel manual. It is well spec'd and hasn't given me any issues in my 5 years of ownership. I do a lot of motorway mileage (average around 50 mpg using brim to brim calculation) and although the seats are fairly comfortable, I find that the cabin noise can get quite loud, especially speeds over 70mph. I don't think the cabin noise is any worse than the class of car, but the 18" alloys with low profile don't help I suppose.
I am potentially looking to change to a slightly bigger car, one that us more suited to motorway cruising with minimal cabin noise and also an automatic.
I have come across a '19 plate Mondeo diesel automatic with good service history and high level spec - Titanium edition. My question is whether changing over to the Mondeo will give me more of what I want? Lower cabin noise intrusion and more of a comfortable motorway cruiser over long drives?
I should mention it is the 2 litre diesel with 180bhp. How are these cars for reliability? Will the gearbox give me any issues? The Mondeo I am looking at has had its gearbox oil changed only last year.0
