We've been members for many years; we joined when our 5 kids were small & it was a saving just on parking by the beaches near us. But we've also happily visited Trust properties whenever we go away anywhere in the UK, and still do; DD2 & I love a good garden particularly but the art collection at the one closest to us is also stunning & we drag visitors around it endlessly. DD1 actually works for them now.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)3

Just lost my post thanks to my hand going near the mouse and the b***** screen swiping right. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
We are at £185.00 so far this month, and despite my smug post about only needing dairy (inevitably butter, milk, cream, cheese) I do actually need a few things; oats, ginger nuts, carrots (we have repeatedly run out of carrots for the last year with an improbably large number rotting in whatever storage space I tried to keep them in) - so we are likely to exceed our aim of £200 or less. Year to date is £2278.22/£3000Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

We have Scottish NT membership, even though we live in Bucks. It's cheaper than the English NT; take a look and check out the current prices.3

@Suffolk_lass I’m not sure what you use your carrots for, but I use them mainly for soups, in small chunks to add to casseroles, or grated to bulk out bolognese etc. This year I have been prepping and dehydrating the carrots then storing them in large empty Hellman’s jars (other screw top jars are available 😂) and it has worked really well.3

Last shop of the month done and I've come in at £4.64 over budget. Actually, I'm really pleased but to be fair I do have a fair bit in the cupboards and freezers.

Thank, @C_J, I use them for all of the above, and as a vegetable, steamed, boiled, grated in salads and hm coleslaw. I have frozen both cooked and raw carrots when either I over-provided, or they are starting to look sad. I think this year, I have been less diligent about binning the ends, when they have begun to rot, and have noticed those, discussed it with friends who have confessed it as our shared dirty little food waste secret. I might have a go at dehydrating but only once my (electric) aga is back on for the winter months.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

For anyone who likes lurpak, the 600gm pack is only £2 at asda at the moment. It is the tickled pink one and its short dated but it freezes very well. I'm currently using some from March this year3

About 4 visits would cover the annual fee... my list has 14 placesso were going to sign up and try and make full use of it over the coming year.
@Wicked_Lady Your right Scottish membership is £135 for the year even more of a bargain.
