Evening everyone.
I'm over budget. I'm not sure how much as I've lost count and misplaced some receipts.
I aim to start again Monday.
I won't need anything tomorrow from the shops fortunately thoughDecluttering campaign 2023

Suffolk_lass said:O.M.G. just inventoried both big outdoor freezers. Enough for the next Suffolk siege, even if I never shop for anything except dairy again. For example, 26 bags of prepared courgettes - that will be soup lunches for the winter then. 3 large courgettes to a bag, enough soup for 3-4 days each! - A good job we like courgette soup!
Good to know you are siege ready 0 I got rid of my second fridge/freezer as was in my study but I miss the extra freezer space, not as a single woman who lives in Central London with no garden needs 2 freezers!
@PipneyJane I do eat meat so I will try the recipe tx
Grocery now at £128.22 groceries plus £16.90 junk/sweets and £2.90 food on the run
Just popped to tes** as fancied making a beef Balti curry (no rice) £10.,05 so grabbed some beef mince from there - my Morries was closed., Served with a lovely dal i made earlier in the week and YS mange tout and snap peas
Plus bought some charcuterie for the mornings travel. Black beans in a can for supplies
I am travelling abroad 2mrw for work for 4 days - there is a luckily a LID* there near where I am staying as I am covering most my own food costs.
This weekend is a family bday so I will be away so no grocery spend but I will be picking up 50% at least of a nice Sunday lunch - I have shares in Mitchell & Butler so I get 12 x 20% vouchers each year for them (up to a party of 10 inc food and drink)DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Just caught up with my spending - so far I’m at
£180.46/£400
So i’m well within budget with two shopping weeks to go. I’m pretty pleased, and it’s down to (for once) religiously sticking to a meal plan (even though I’ve had covid for the last week), making a list to go shopping with, and eating down the apocalypse stores. I’ve one almost empty cupboard, and one chest freezer emptied that I’ve defrosted and scrubbed. The chest freezer is back on and chilling down again, ready to receive batch cooked meals as I focus on eating down the fridge freezer so I can defrost and scrub that too, meal plans are set for the next fortnight and now I just need to try to get better..

The C0-0p
Just a reminder to everyone that if you have a balance on your C0-0p Rewards Account, you have until 31st December to spend it or you will lose it!
This is something I noticed this morning. I haven’t looked at my C0-0p account for ages, since we rarely go to one now, but DH visited a branch last night, to buy milk to take to work. (Our local C0-0p petrol station was sold to A$da, and we no longer pop in there for the paper or milk or to look for YS bargains.).

PS: Thanks to various money off vouchers on their app, DH got his milk for free!"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Evening y’all. Checking in after a few spends this past weekend. We had a Morrison’s order delivered on Sunday that came to £64.31 after a few items didn’t show up. Saturday morning I noticed that I had a coupon for £12 off £70 that expired on Sunday evening so I took advantage of that instead of me lugging groceries back from there.
Yesterday I spent 69p at Savers for kitchen matches. After that I spent £21.48 at M & S for more salad, YS meatballs, YS hummus, strawberries, garlic, sardines, whole wheat tortillas, olive rolls, sliced mozzarella (it’s finally back!), and coffee. Even though we got Mission tortillas in the Morrisons order, they completely split when I used it for a wrap yesterday morning. This completely defeats the purpose of a wrap! I told Mr. Jings to use those as quesadilla vehicles while I’m gone.
Speaking of which, I’m leaving tomorrow to head back to NYC to vote in person. Early voting starts on Saturday and I’m debating whether I should stand in line early Saturday morning and just get it over with or go early Sunday morning before the church crowd hits our early voting polling station. It’s surrounded by several churches in the neighbourhood! No matter, I’ll be sure to take lots of snacks and water with me. That includes the proper M & S wraps that I’ll just pack with me to take to NYC so I can use them for breakfast and lunch wraps during my stay. The Morrisons order also had a few traveling snacks for me.
While in M & S I bought a few tins of shortbread for presents to give folks back in NYC. Those came out of my personal budget.
£285.64 / £325.00 spent. £39.36 remaining
That should be enough to last Mr. Jings the week that I’m gone. I return on the 31st. He also told me to leave the printed £25 Love to Shop voucher for him so he can use it in M & S this week if need be.
