Just wanted to say Hi, I saw you on the programme you looked great, it's funny I expected you to have an accent too!! & you're so slim!!
I actually thought this weeks programme was a lot more informative, & I think you look like a lovely normal family going through the struggles we all go through:T
Well done for being brave enough to go on there, shame they didn't pay your expenses, but I'm sure it was fun to meet Martin & gang:D
I tried to post last night, but my computer kept hanging, I don't know if it was because extra bods were on the siteComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Our train and tube costs were refunded so inc food and everything we probably spent about £30-£40... Forgot how expensive stuff is when you get it from train stations!!! :EEKTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

hi Guys.. I just want to apologise to anyone if I seemed off last night after getting back from London. I really hope it didn't come across the wrong way as I know that it was noones fault about us being cut from the show and last night I think I was just venting my extreme tiredness!! lol! I'm really really glad we had the chance to meet Martin (We also met lillibet and newmum&skint who are both the loveliest people you could meet..) and to be able to help the show with the video... and the response from my diary and other posts about it has been fab with people coming out of the woodwork to post which is fantastic and I'm sooo proud to be able to help.
Like I said I didn't mean for me to come across as really ungrateful and for that I want to apologise as I really ddn't mean to sound like a cow..
We made the choice to go down and it wasn't anyones fault at all.
Loved the show though... everyone is so nice and friendly... TV isn't easy (we saw that yesterday!) and under the pressure they're under they did a brilliant job.
We watched the show from the green room and it looked fab, a job well done once again.:T
again, apologies if I seemed ungrateful or anything.. :undecidedTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

You didn't seem ungrateful at all - just very tired. It's incredible your 3 min took 6 hours of filming. I think they are still finding their feet with the format, I found the pace quite fast and I know the lingo to an extent. I think it's a case of a short slot and trying to get lots of info in. I wasn't convinced by the smearing of face cream segment though was it supposed to be freudianand does your average person REALLY spend £.5k on face cream a year

I totally agree about the face cream thing £5k that is just stupid. Mine is expensive but it lasts forever so only use 1 maybe 1 1/2 a year at £25 a go. IA I also thought you were fab on the programme takes guts to talk about debt on screen well done hopefully it will lead to many more people having their LBM. Well done.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Hi IA! Congratulations on your TV appearance, I thought you came across really well. :T
I know a while ago you were interested to see whether buying a house would be a possibility for you in the future. I've just been looking at some case studies to try and get my brain working ready for when I go back to work, and thought this one was quite interesting, because it is pretty close to what you were looking at:
PURCHASE PRICE - £120,000
5% deposit £6,000, so mortgage required £114,000
Mr X's salary - £22,500 (slightly more that Ste if I remember rightly, but you mentioned there was potential for promotion etc)
Mrs X's salary - £16,000 (roughly the sort of salary you would be looking at for debt counsellor type jobs)
The basic income multiples (how much you could borrow in relation to your salary) I would use are 3.5 x the higher earner's salary, and 1.5 x the lower earners salary, but would go higher than this if it was affordable, so in this example, I have looked at 4 x the higher salary and 1.5 x the lower salary).
So:
4 x 22,500 = 90,000
1.5 x 16,000 = 24,000
= £114,000
If I was looking at this, and the mortgage repayments were affordable, I would agree it.
I'm not suggesting you DO this btw, but thought you might like to see an example that isn't too far away from your circumstances. Obviously no-one knows what will happen with the housing market, but my gut feeling is that in a couple of years (by the time you have cleared the debt and saved a deposit), it will be a much better time to be a first time buyer than is has been for the last few years."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
