On further investigation the small pipe going into the big one is from the bath waste. I filled the bath up and when I emptied it the dripping started getting quicker. Could it be blocked or the seal has perished on the joint ?0

Good job finding it. Yes it's likely a seal; you could pop it off and try to find a replacement.1

The rubber bung looks like it need replacing as per the ones in the link above, its worth checking that the pipe is long enough to be seated all the way in, or that it hasn't managed to be dislodged during install or boxing inSome people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!1
