my system crashed and i had to restart allover again as i couldnt do anything at all on my computer - i did a full restart - (non destructive) - to factory settings as system restore wouldnt sort it out
now though - i have got the message 'trojan backdoor' detected - how do i get shut of this please?
also i get this message;- an error has occured. windows has detected errors with your system registry. these cause system crashes and unstability.....
visit https://www.registry-doctor.com to fix - i have tried doing this but it isnt working and the message keeps coming..............
any help would be appreciated........
thanks

try to find out the exact name of trojan. enter it at google and look for a link to get rid of. or try https://www.download.com and try the same. good luck!0

Visit http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ and download it. It is the full product for the first 14 days then a restricted product after that. It updates daily, despite being free, and is imho a must have program. You need to install it and then update it before it will work.
It may be worth running it is safe mode to give it the best chance. At the same time you might aswell run other spyware products, adaware, spybot to name but a few.0 -
i have been using Spybot to remove any trojans etc and it has worked for me for the past 3 years. as far as registry is concerened go for Registry cleaner which you can download for free from tucows or download.com or just search it on google. put up Outpost firewall(very gd) and Avast virus software(better than avg).picks up viruses etc instantly and also picks up those viruses not detected by avg.
once again all these software are free.0 -
magoogy,

whatever it is is really doing my head in now - it started yesterday when my antivirus ran out and someone told me to download avast and this caused my computer to crash - dont know why......i have been at this all day and still i am getting the message - i cannot get into my favourites in the search bar at the top and it turns off suddenly..........
as for the trojan - it just says backdoor............
thanks for your help everyone..........0 -

to clear it from your system you need to turn off the system restore, then boot into safe mode by hitting F8 key on boot-up or by using msconfig
you may need to unistall Avast first if it is giving you problems and try AVG from www.grisoft.com
or just try running Avast in safe mode first..Ex forum ambassador

Avast is always telling me I have a Trojan but I think it is lying, honest.0

You need to run the antivirus & antispyware progs that you've got while in safe mode and with system restore turned off or they can restore themselves.Torgwen..........
