Alternative to paper backup?

Disorganised people will always mess about at boarding, whether they are using phones or paper. It's just the way they are and the rest of us have to just be patient.
Personally, I just have mine in Google Wallet, email, screenshot and airline app.
As someone said, it's not the dark ages and phones are reliable tools now.....I only travel with a backpack and my phone, so don't need to be messing with anything extra.
If, it did have a sudden fit there are plenty of ways to get onto the net and download a new copy at airports.
