The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

Hi, just an update.  Today we have received a letter dated 30th December 2024 from ZZPS regarding this Penalty Notice.  How do I deal with?  My wife is a carer and is slightly disturbed by the claim of a potential criminal offence on the letter as it would mean her losing her job.

    Do exactly what I advised.

Coupon-mad - is it 6 months from infraction or from 1st letter (these were about a week apart.  I don't want to email them until it has expired.  6 months from infraction is today :)
  • Hi, so I emailed ZZPS stating the Penalty Notice is statute barred and not to contact us again.  Today we received a letter dated 27th January from GCTT (whose website shows affiliation to ZZPS)  stating a warning notice of transfer to solicitors.  The return address is Northampton (not sure if they are linked to the infamous Northampton Court).  The letter states that APCOA are intending to take to court, although not sure why as my understanding is they would have to pay any fine to HM Treasury.

There is no increase in fees from the last ZZPS.  Any thoughts on what to say to GCTT?

6 months from infraction is today, 9th January :)

Wait till later in the month.

Doesn't matter but the message needs to be sent by your wife, for ZZPS to get stuffed.

By the way she cannot POSSIBLY lose her job over this!

    There is zero danger.

    Some rude words!

It was a Penalty Notice so it was statute barred after 6 months (January).

GCTT are just part of ZZPS.  Horrific company.

Just refer GCTT and their equally useless sister company ZZPS to the answer given in the case of Arkell v Pressdram (1971).

GCTT is just a trading name of ZZPS; it's the same company.
