looking for a cooker with a pin code facility?

I am looking for an electric cooker with a pin code facility. I have seen plenty with child locks, but they simply rely on holding a button down for a few seconds. I want one with a proper pin code facility to lock the cooker. Alternatively, are there any smart cookers where I can do this through the app? Miele do washing machines with pin codes, so I think there must be something for cookers? If I can't get one, I can get a smart switch with this facility that I can install in my consumer unit, but I would prefer it if the appliance offered a pin code facility.

I want an electric cooker. Why would it not exist if you can get washing machines with pin codes, thermostats with pin codes and I even saw a fridge in the states offering this facility. Why would it not exist on a cooker?

It would not exist because no one has ever felt the need. If you think it exists then link to one to demonstrate that.chilswelluk said:Neil_Jones said:I doubt such a feature exists on a cooker, assuming a gas oven nothing to stop you using a match to light something.

Why do you specifically want a pin code on your cooker? Why is a child lock not enough?
Alternatively if pin code cookers are not available, could you do something to the power supply going specifically to the cooker make that controllable by app/pin etc.?0 -

Why would it not exist on a cooker? Are you suggesting you want to only cook on an electric oven during off peak hours on Economy 7 or 10 or whatever? That's the vibe I'm getting here, rightly or wrongly. Can you not just unplug it? Or turn the breaker off, assuming its on its own circuit which it probably should be!1 -
I wondered if this is to do with an adult with dementia (or something along those lines) who would be able to turn the cooker on if it's just a child lock...Neil_Jones said:chilswelluk said:Neil_Jones said:I doubt such a feature exists on a cooker, assuming a gas oven nothing to stop you using a match to light something.

You can get lockable electric sockets & switches.

I'm really struggling to think why you might need a PIN for a fridge. Is it to lock the door? Think I've seen something like this in research labs.I want an electric cooker. Think the OP needs to describe the actual requirement rather than "need a PIN". And does "cooker" mean oven? hob? stand-alone or built-in?2 -

As others say, the OP needs to explain the actual requirement. Depending on what it is, adding a locking cover for the cooker switch might be a solution.
