Currys refused to honor price match

Hi there. I was looking to price match a tablet sold on Amazon UK and they refused because it says "sold by Amazon EU" so their claim is that the item is not being sold by a UK retailer. My counter-argument was that the item is sold through Amazon.co.uk , the seller is Amazon themselves, and that Amazon.co.uk is the commercial name but the actual legal name "Amazon EU sarl" , so every time one buys directly from Amazon UK they actually buy from Amazon EU sarl (as it appears on every single invoice) and many if not most of their products have originated from warehouses on the continent.
Needless to say my words were ignored, in one ear and out of the other, the online chat Currys representative didn't even debate me, he just apologised and said they can't help, while the manager at the store kept saying "it's a different company using the same name" 😮😲 .
Who do you reckon is right here ? Even if they were right the Currys guys were completely unable to offer a meaningful debate/explanation so maybe you can. Thanks

If they are only price matching then buy from Amazon instead and remember not to give Currys your business in future.1

Having ".co.uk" domain name means nothing, many far east websites do the same to appear to based in the UK.0

Was it from Amazon specifically or a 3rd party marketplace seller that sells on Amazon?0

You can use Klarna on Amazon.0

Is there anything in the terms that gives them an option to refuse to price match for any reason (other than unlawful discrimination, of course)?
As an aside, when did "debate me" become a substitute for "debate it with me"? I've heard it used that way before, and it sounds weird. Why would Currys "debate you"? It literally means they'd argue about you among themselves.2 -
Don't they only price match against physical stores and not online retailers?0

Or, do you mean you have store credit / vouchers that have to be used at Curry's?
Or, do you mean you can buy Curry's vouchers at a discount through a workplace scheme such as Reward Gateway and want to take the percentage saving on buying the vouchers and also be price-matched?0
