Parking fine resulting in CCJ letters sent to old address

Options
Hello,
I am looking for some advice if anyone could help please.
Back in February I received a parking fine from a private car park company, my mistake as I did not pay it and had forgotten about it however the car park meter was not working and I left after half hour of trying they can see this on the cameras. However I did not receive any further letters from this company and recently received a letter from DCBL stating I have a CCJ with a large fine. I have never before received anything from DCBL as they must have used my old address again it was still on DVLA but my V5 was updated so usually get letters to my V5 address. I did not receive any court letters or anything from this company before, I understand they used my old address but they have miraculously found me and sent it to the correct address after the CCJ, I’m not sure if I can argue this or would I just need to pay the fine, I’m really concerned about the CCJ being on my record and if I knew about this before I would have taken action and sorted it out

    Welcome!

All of your circumstances are covered in the CCJ set aside section of the NEWBIES FAQS, including the fact about how easily they traced you AFTER getting the CCJ.

You'll easily get this CCJ set aside.

It's not a fine. But how much?

  • It’s £470 now because I had no previous warnings or letters

OK so you are safe from bailiffs as it is under £600. So just read what I've carefully put together in the Announcement thread for setting aside a CCJ.

The process starts with a particular email.  Then ends with you getting the CCJ set aside and your court application fee paid back by the scammers.

Please read the CCJ set aside advice.

  • I have read the threads but not sure if I’m 100% understanding what I need to do, is there an email template I send to DCBL to get this claim removed

  • What actions would I take if they do not respond to my correspondence and increase my fine?

It's only three days since your last post. Probably a bit early to be accusing them of 'not responding', don't you think?

It's not a fine and no-one can increase it.
