They actually dock at Ijmuiden. There is a related shuttle which they can book on-line before departure. Given how little time they have I'd recommend that. And asking where it drops off and picks up.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Given how short the trip is and how little they'll buy it's hardly worth the bother of doing anything other than just using their normal debit card.

There are very very few places in Amsterdam which don't take cards, and quite a few which don't take cash. Public transport is card only.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Doshwaster said:HSBC debit card isn't one of the worst High Street bank cards. Overseas spending is charged at 2.75% which may not be too bad if only there for one day. Spend £200 in and it's a fiver in fees.
So £5 spent, would be 13p and that's it, and 4 individual £5 spends would only be 52p ??
that's fine then !0 -
We were in the Netherlands a few days in mid July - principally Amsterdam and Maastricht - major cards were accepted routinely everywhere.I believe there may still be a few off the beaten track locations that are a bit behind the curve, however they are reportedly fewer and fewer.0
