Fibre Installed From Cabinet To Properties But Openreach Saying No Plans To Offer FTTP

Where I live we have had FTTC for many years. Then, in the latter part of last year Openreach spent weeks installing fibre along the roads in my village, running under the paths outside our properties.
In response to a query I made last week, Openreach have responded with the message "We don't have any plans to upgrade your area right now with Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)". So I messaged them on X (Twitter) and now I've received a phone call from someone at Openreach, who seemed very puzzled that we have had fibre installed.
Openreach are now investigating, but would anyone like to speculate as to what might have happened.

Left hand not talking to the right hand? Are you absolutely certain it was Openreach and not one of the alt networks like City Fibre etc.?2

With retro build FTTP areas ( so everywhere apart from newsites ) FTTP isn’t supplied to property, and it’s not from a cabinet anyway , but FTTP is supplied to CBT’s ,( FTTP distribution points ) which are strategically placed to serve addresses ( generally in the same location as the copper distribution points ) , so at the top of a telegraph pole , or in an underground jointbox in the footpath….fibre isn’t installed to the property until an order is raised and obviously an order can only be raised once a CBT has been installed, commissioned and declared RFS ( ready for service ) .
There are several possible reasons you can’t order on this FTTP network you apparently observed being installed , it’s not complete, it simply passes by your address and was never intended to serve your address or your address is mismatched ( the Royal Mail entry differs from the Openreach entry ) .

It's a huge ongoing project
The contractors may be laying the fibre cables as an early part of the upgrade project as it's cheaper to do a whole area in one hit rather than do it piecemeal.
It doesn't actually mean that you are about to get fttp at this timeEx forum ambassador

That return shows FTTP isn’t available ( FTTPod is not native FTTP , it’s a different product ) , if you think this is wrong and FTTP is available then obviously the error needs to be corrected before any ISP can raise an order …..a CBT although a good sign , is not a guarantee that FTTP is available as the CBT needs to get back via a splitter node and aggregation node to the OLT ( Headend ) but the way a network is built they wouldn’t normally provide a CBT in advance of the other work .

Try contacting Openreach using this form , they should check and if it’s a simple records error , get it corrected.1 -
FWIW, it took about 5 - 6 months from when OR did our road's fibre cabling before FTTP orders became available, after having to endure 'superfast's 22-27mbs 'service', about a third of 'superfasts' claims, but of course you get to a 3rd of the headline figures - highly missleading 'digital ' 'publicity'
