My stance is pretty clear in my post on this MSE article.
And I'm not the only one to be distrustful of sites (even like MSE) for the accurate information.

I don't need to know security rules coming home.
I can't see how you're continuing to keep making that point.

If you don't pay attention to the rules at airports you depart from returning to the UK, then why bother being so picky/fixated on the way out?

    Makes no sense.

It may make no sense to you but it makes perfect sense to me.

Most airports I fly home from don't mess about with changing the rules like we do.

They are also much less busy allowing more time to get organised, and seem to have better signage than when exiting the UK.
If you've ever gone through security at BHX at 03:00 you'll understand why I feel the need to be on top of what the latest rules are

    I'm not picky.
    I'm not fixated.
    I'm just organised.
I just prefer to find things out from the horse's mouth rather than ask some random strangers on t'interweb (who may or may not know what they're taking about).
