How many 100mls containers?

Options
Flying out of Bristol in a few weeks, and I'll need to take some medication with me. I'm only taking cabin bag.

It's prescribed, in 500ml glass bottles. I don't really want to take a whole bottle with me (which I think I am allowed with a prescription), smallest available is 150ml.

I'd like to decant into a few smaller aseptic containers, but cannot see if there's a maximum number of plastic containers allowed.

Could anyone please confirm?

Thank you

Maximum size for an individual bottle is 100 ml

They must be put in a single sealable bad with a maximum capacity of 1 litre

Used to be a maximum of 10. Given all the recent changes of mind over liquids and hand luggage, not sure what it is at the moment.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

AIUI, where the restrictions on liquids apply, all such containers need to fit in one of the small clear bags that are available.  These bags are about the size of a sandwich bag.

The CAA has guidance - it looks like liquid medicine can be in addition to toiletries, but should be in 100ml bottles, or if in larger bottles, needs to be screened separately.

You'll need a doctor's letter or prescription evidence with it.

It's all change from today, back to the old ways across the EU as well, UK reverted in June.

But that's not helpful when it's been announced today that all airports in the EU have to follow what's already happened at UK airports and revert to liquids out of baggage.

  • From what is being reported - not all EU and UK airports have the most up to date serviceable scanner equipment - so the need to revert to previous practices.

The issue is that new scanners are not performing as required, the quote below is from the BBC article.

However, the EU has reinstated the 100ml limit so a technical issue with the new equipment can be addressed, although it has not said what this issue is.

This isn't the case at all airports - London City and Schiphol (airports I use a lot) seem to have the new type of scanners working, but I always personally ensure that liquids are in a clear plastic bag, in the right sized containers that can either be left in my main bag, or taken out depending on what is needed.
