Also any evidence its your land?0

The land is on my deeds, I will post a picture later of the pavement. From what I could see is that new green box is not connected to the old grey one that is why I assumed it, maybe BT don't get why people get the hair off.0

Generally a public footpath includes around 1m either side , often one side will be the carriageway and one side a grass verge, obviously there are some exceptions, like terrace housing that fronts directly onto a footpath , if your deeds show this area as your land , ( and as seems likely its ex local housing authority stock ) , then an easement probably exists for utilities to access that area and it should be in the deeds .
’Get the hair off’ must be a local expression ( I’ve never heard of it ) , but I don’t think anyone is exasperated, just you have made quite a few assumptions ( incorrectly in my view ) , the cabinet being adjacent to Virgin cabinet , it’s using green ducting , and Openreach ( not BT ) generally don’t require cabinets for their FTTP network ( but Virgin/Nextfibre do ) all point to it not being a ‘BT’ cabinet, that all I’m saying.2 -

It is not uncommon for houses either side of a road to each own up to the centre line of the road (as per deeds), but that road is then adopted by the local highways authority. Clearly, where this is the case, the householders either side cannot simply fence off up to the centre of the road.
It seems to be the same here that this grass verge cannot be simply fenced off.
Who has been maintaining that grass verge?
As well as the grey cabinet (and the new green cabinet), there seem to be other utilities also in this area - it looks like another chamber cover sort of behind the gentleman in the photo leaning on the barrier.

I can obviously see why they OP is upset if it's on his land and he wanted to fence it. Kind of looks like the grey one was further forward.0 -
I even said in some situations there obviously can’t be a metre alongside the footpath , like where a house wall and the hard surface of the footpath are adjacent, or a property boundary is clearly defined, like with street houses/ terraces etc or property with obvious boundary , but with footpaths that are in ‘public’ land , ( so with council maintaining the verge alongside ) with code powers they have the right under the NRSWA to excavate , and this includes the not just the footpath surface, but and area either side , perhaps I over generalised, but I was speaking to the images the OP posted , and it’s pretty clear from the images that where these cabinets are sites are not inside the householders curtilage and what’s more the latest image shows it’s not BT ( it never could have been really ) or Openreach , rendering the title misleading , as it’s a Virgin Media / Nextfibre lid on the new footway box , so the title should be Virgin have installed a small cabinet close to my house , or something along those lines .
As far as the OP claiming their house deeds show this area as theirs, they could seek out legal advice if they feel the company installing this equipment ( VM ) have no legal right to site it there .0 -
If the OP had sight of the courtesy board that would have told them who the work was being carried out for and contact details. If there was no courtesy board I would not complain to BT.0
