wording on the pcn saying I will pay a charge for parking? Car park is free to use. Although maybe only for a certain amount of hours etc.

The charge referred to on the NTD is for parking outwith the Ts and Cs displayed on the signs. It has nothing to do whether it's a free to park or pay to park car park.
Please show us the NTK, both sides, redacted but with dates showing, the PoC from the claim form, and your defence.
Please also show us photos of the parking space, either from the claimant, or from Google Streetview.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

"wording on the pcn saying I will pay a charge for parking"It does not say that at all, it actually states:The vehicle was parked on private property in a manner where the driver agreed to pay a parking charge as displayed on signage. It will have said on the signage something like:Parking is free to customers with a whole load of terms and and conditions including park only in marked bays (what ever that means) failure to comply will result in a parking charge notice being issued. So they haven't charged for parking they have invoiced you for damages for allegedly breaking their terms and conditions.2

And the front page of the Claim Form.
What's your WS deadline? We don't suggest people post witness statements snail mail nor that newbies go ahead without showing us your draft WS and evidence first (see the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread for what a WS looks like and an a-f list of exhibits).
It's not just restating the defence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
