Looking at those, you went into debt somewhere between May 2023 and September 2023.

With no payments recorded since then, and a debt balance because of that somewhere around £3500 by February 2024.

At the rate the debt was growing, that would mean somewhere around £4200 - £4500 of debt by now.

You need to work out where the payments from your bank have been going - I wonder if there is another account sat somewhere with no usage and £4500 credit balance.

The problem is that you've only had estimated readings going back to December 2022.

Plainly there's been some sort of muck up at BG

BUT until you read that meter, it's gong to be impossible to tell you if you are OK. Where is the meter?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

how is that possible to accrue that much debit in such a small window ?? surely this is a billing error by the provider ? or am I reading this all wrong ?

    Several actual readings in 2024.

Gas estimates are tracking actual reasonably well, electric estimates have gone a couple of hundred pounds over by June 2024.

I don't have anything knowledgeable to say practically but you have and will get good advice from well informed people on here, and good on you for allowing yourself to be vulnerable and seek advice.
I just wanted to chip in and say that, while hopefully it can be resolved, even if it is a long and stressful process and you do for some reason end up having to pay it all etc (worse case scenario!) please don't feel suicidal- call Samaritans if you need to (though be aware they're there to listen, not guide) but I promise this is a dip, it's not your forever feelings or situation
thank you very much, you are very kind.
