EssexHebridean said:You might want to just have a bit of a search on here for information on UW before considering switching to them…suffice to say that generally speaking the only customers of theirs who consistently have good things to say about them are those who benefit from the pyramid-scheme style arrangement they have for referring new customers…
Phone calls are answered quickly and emails have been replied to within 24 hours.
I have not benefitted from their "pyramid-scheme style arrangement" nor have I enrolled in their partner programme.
They allowed me to switch to a better fixed tariff a month after the initial switch with no exit fee.
I did have a problem with the ACLS timing not being aligned to the UW Economy 7 hours (a throwback to a previous EDF ECO20:20 tariff which TE never reset). But after getting through to someone in their meter team, UW were able to push through the new settings to the meter within 15 minutes.
At the end of the day, other than TE, no other supplier could get close to the 5p off-peak rate.0 -
That is good feedback, and sounds like they may have improved their customer service at least in some areas since I was a customer then. From other threads I am aware that they still have their rather opaque billing methods, and whether they now have the ability to deal with ad-hoc payments to the account is still an unknown I guess, unless you have tried this at all? I found the actual supply was fine - but as soon as any sort of problem was encountered it all went to…well, you can fill that bit in for yourself!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I opted to pay monthly in arrears by DD based on actual usage as I hate budget payment type plans with fixed DD amounts.
I'll see how things go with UW next year and then review my options once the 12m fix gets close to ending.0 -
Does anyone know of an app that can fully support the lifestyle tariff? Outside of Octopus, it looks like Hugo only supports single and very simple dual rate tariffs.0

Although I think I'm fortunate that my bills from
Tomato cover whole months, it's possible some people are getting monthly bills that eg start and end mid month (Octopus used to be quite erratic in billing periods which was incredibly annoying too)1 -
Does Bright App require a photo of your bill to join?
As I've not been billed yet by TE it's hard to upload a bill.

I’ve been very pleased with Tomato Energy so far. I’m on the lifestyle tariff using a Powerwall 3 and EV so nearly all my energy is at 4.5p. It took 2 weeks to get my meter synced with mywatts billing (started working after calling customer services). When I pulled the csv export I found my charging periods were 30 minutes out. Updated my charging schedules and hey presto.
Sure, I miss octopus ecosystem and all the apps and integrations but I’m saving a fortune, and hopeful that the export tariff will be available soon as I noticed it’s in their contract.1
