Tomato Energy (Electric Only Supplier) - Too Good To Be True ?

Unfortunately, I was correct to be suspicious of this “failure”. Tomato fabricated HH data within their system for the missing period (most of Sept, October). They reversed my pattern of consumption from mostly off-peak to mostly peak which meant their calculated bills are massively artificially inflated. I obviously lodged a complaint but they denied everything. They also blocked access to the company who own the Bright app to try to prevent the discrepancy being detected.Alex_ST said:Mywatts went offline for me too on Sept 4 0:30 and hasn’t come back at all. Bright went offline 6th Sept. Who can I contact to troubleshoot this? Is there a central authority for the comms side? Doubt Tomato will be much help. Concerned they might intentionally not be collecting TOU data to bill at higher rate.I disputed the bill and haven’t paid.I have downloaded all the data from mywatts and where they have fabricated readings it’s very obvious because (aside from the sudden shift in usage pattern) the precision of the data exceeds that supplied by the meter (9 decimal places vs 3 from actual meter readings).Question: is it possible that they have pushed this data back to the meter so the corruption is irreversible? If not, how do I go about accessing the real data? DCC have been useless. (What exactly is the point of having a central authority for smart meter data if this sort of thing is allowed to happen?)
Has anyone else who experienced the outage at the start of Sept had a similar problem? Is Senapt (who own the mywatts app & are presumably liable) still trading?Given this practice, please be aware that downloading “your” data from mywatts is no guarantee that you will be billed accurately. They cannot change any data on the meter.Nor can they block 3rd party access. If 3rd party DCC users can't access it, it sounds like a meter comms issue.

It’s not. Mywatts came back online after I hooked up another 3rd party app whuch seemed to force some kind of reset but Bright still isn’t working. They don’t know why and tell my their access is blocked.Bendo said:They cannot change any data on the meter.Nor can they block 3rd party access. If 3rd party DCC users can't access it, it sounds like a meter comms issue.0 -
Thanks. Will they /I be permitted access to this historical data given it would be prior to the new contract start date?QrizB said:
No, your supplier cannot change the 13 rolling months of consumption data that's stored in your meter / comms hub.Alex_ST said:Question: is it possible that they have pushed this data back to the meter so the corruption is irreversible?
Your new supplier can pull it from your meter.Alex_ST said:If not, how do I go about accessing the real data?0 -

Past experience. They're not as bad as Util**itty Warehouse, but probabky on a par with Scottish power. All three are sitting firmly on my "not to be touched with someone else's barge pole" list.Alex_ST said:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
