Ok, so I write letter of complaint to the retailer, In my own words of sorts.  I wasn’t however at any of the retail stores in the area, I simply used the car park.  I will try and find out the company  I should address the letter to.  Thanks for the replies.

Be careful how you write it. "I simply used the car park" could easily be interpreted as you were the driver.

Also in an earlier post you wrote...

I was also parked there for a considerable length of time...
It is not unknown for retailers to pass on emails to the parking company.

Take care. Suggest you stop using the word 'I' and instead refer to 'the driver'.

Probably best to just ignore it then.

    Scotland, innit!

But don't park like that again on private land.

Not using the stores? Shouldn't park there (unless it's a site where you know what the rules are and you are complying - some DO allow parking for non-patrons).

What ever you do you don't volunteer that information to anyone!

Thanks, no I wouldn’t have used any of those terms in said letter, purely for information on here.   Perhaps is best for the moment to ignore and hope that nothing else comes of it 🤞.

I have previously used this car park when dining/going to the cinema, however on this occasion did not.  I know it is no excuse but I have used the car park a couple
of times this year in a similar situation and haven’t had any comeback for doing so.   My reason this time was the road was closed where I needed to go and this was the nearest parking facility. Unlucky this time and lesson learned not to do it again.

As was suggested it could be the best option for the moment to do nothing at all.

    Good choice.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

No need to hope. It's Scotland and by now you'll have surely read a dozen threads or more, having done the search I told you to do.

You can uncross your fingers, nothing will happen.  The Private Parking Company do not know who was driving so there the matter ends.

Don't abuse parking in future though.
