Replacing very old overnight storage heaters

I replaced 2 of my old storage heaters (circa 2024) this year with Quantums. One I bought 2nd hand from Ebay - a QM100. The other I bought brand new, a QM150. Ironically, the second hand one, which is an older series, has given me no trouble at all and was a complete bargain. The QM150 has some kind of fault on it as it is over heating. It's almost like it isn't undertstanding the charging times. Dimplex have been helpful (so far) and when the weather gets colder and I switch it on again, they will send out an engineer to look at it as they have all the readings logged.
I intend to replace another old storage heater this winter and I will probably go second-hand again as I find the older series one a lot easier to programme. I can also adjust the temperature more easily. The way to tell if it's an older one is if the menu button is at the top. If it's in the middle, it's a more up-to-date series.
British gas were doing a very good tariff for Econ 7 and Dimplex quantums but they all have to be the new type which for me was just not viable.
Hope that helps! There was a very long thread on Quantums last year, when I was looking into this.3 -
