Skipton to Halifax ISA Transfer

I honestly wouldn't waste any time waiting in phone queues. As mentioned above, when arranging an ISA transfer from a provider who doesn't give you a conventional 8-digit account number (eg. when paying in, you use the generic account number for the provider and use your non-standard account number as the payment reference), then you just put this non-standard number/reference in the roll number/reference field on the transfer form. You can enter the provider's sort code and account number if you're able to or simply leave those fields blank if an online form doesn't allow it. I've done this type of transfer many times and never had a problem.Brisfit said:Just using the ref seems like it should work but I'll make a couple more enquiries when I have time to sit in the phone queues... I have a little time yet as the current ISA doesn't mature for a week or so. Thanks for the heads up about Skipton possibly phoning me as part of the process, I can be ready for that.
I'm not sure why Halifax don't allow all three bits of information to be written on the form and conversely I don't know why Skipton require three pieces of information when two are generic for ISAs and only one unique to my account.
Non-standard account numbers are commonly used by many building societies, but there are also some banks (eg. Paragon) who operate in the same way. Halifax don't so once you've transferred to them, your new ISA account will have their generic sort code but you'll get your own, conventional 8-digit account number.
i guess the reason why banks like Halifax don't allow you to use all 3 bits of information on the transfer form will be because, once you submit the provider's name, along with a building society roll number or non-standard account number, they don't need the other generic information.

Thanks @35har1old that's correct.35har1old said:
OP isn't looking at a Skipton transfer form but Skipton is saying what is required to be on a form presented to them for them to proceedBarkin said:
If you're transferring from Skipton, why are you even looking at the Skipton transfer form?Brisfit said:I don't know why Skipton require three pieces of information0 -
@xylophone That is logical and without any other information from either party likely what I would do.xylophone said:If Halifax only accepts SC/AC or Ref, I would use your Skipton BS Ref ( the nine digit account no) as this will be your unique identifier.
I certainly found this to be the case when transferring out of YBS.
I'd rather the form had the extra info on regardless of whether it was essential just to ease the transfer process so I'll attempt to speak to a Human at Halifax on Monday...1 -
Hi there. Providing your 9-digit unique Skipton account number as the 'reference' is sufficient, as this is what allows us to identify your Skipton ISA. If you experience any further issues, please send us a DM via social media where we can look into this further. Thanks - Skipton“Official Company Representative

Success
As suggested by you all I submitted the ISA transfer form just using the reference number.
The Skipton ISA matured end of play yesterday (3rd) and was in my Halifax ISA by late afternoon today (4th)!
Thank you to everyone who took the trouble to comment on here.
Cheers
