I had my elderly mum (on DLA) signed up to Essentials 1 last January, a day or two before the package was pulled.
Having read this thread, I was prepared for Vodafone to only offer Essentials 2 with the resultant price increase. As also advised via their online chat, we re-registered her interest in Essentials, in order to be called back and signed up for another year. A full 5 working days later, still no call, but later that day, she received this email from Vodafone, with the subject line "Important information on your broadband plan" ...So clicked that Renew now link and ... RENEWED!!! All confirmed with various emails the following day (yesterday), with her estimated bill for next month back down to the usual amount (£20/m, which includes Anytime Landline and Mobile at £8/m) when logging in to her account.Your Vodafone Essentials Broadband contract comes to an end on 12 January 2025. This means your broadband will move up to the out of contact price of £22 a month, as referenced in your contract. Don't worry, though - as long as you’re still eligible, you can renew your plan for another 12 months, or move to one of our standard plans if you prefer.
Right now, you can renew your Fibre 1 Essentials plan for just £12 a month, locking in another year of great value broadband.
If you’d like to chat about your options, you can find our contact details at the bottom of this email.
Renew now
Hi - this is coming up for renewal very shortly (early Jan '26), so does anyone know if Vodafone still send these "Renew now" emails close to contract end for the defunct Fibre 1 Essentials plan @ £12/m, just as it was already defunct nearly a year ago when my elderly mum received that email?
Cheers!
P.S. She has been receiving weekly emails from Vodafone, for a couple of months now, telling her that her contract will soon end but she can renew/upgrade right now to Fibre 2 Essentials. Delete every time!

Hi Guys,
Im an Existing £12 customer for 2 years now just renewed my contract which ended February 3rd
I managed to keep it at a £12 contact last February 2025 despite the renewal links never working and a number of emails in the months leading up to this renewal I kept getting confused as it advertised different dates that the contract was going to End on different emails.
The £12 contract was not advertised at the time and I re registered in the end as the renewal links didn't work they wouldnt submit so not sure what was going to happen. When I did get the call back I renewed at £12 no problems
This year Jan 2026 i did get a renewal email !!
It said very similar to khris email up to the "right now" bit
It had 2 renewal buttons one thats pasted below which goes to the contact page and another red button which when I click on at the moment says "unable to upgrade at the moment please re-register"
Which I did, the email was this,

Anyway got a call back and am being charged £20 now the lady said they don't have fibre 1 on the system anymore she couldn't believe I got a renewal email all seemed abit dodgy
Another thing this Vodafone essentials which it's been renamed keeps saying 12m contact as I'm about 16 days in and I keep seeing the 14 day cancellation thing.
Surely there isn't a cancellation fee ? as I'm thinking of going with the virgin media £12.50 plan now as I'm not really bothered about the speed
And has anyone managed to keep there £12 fibre 1 in late 25 / early 2026 ?
Sorry if this is a old thread this is my first ever forum post

I've been on the £12 plan for several years now. When my contract was up for renewal at the start of this year, I received an email giving me the options to sign up for the £12 plan or the £20 plan. However, when I tried to sign up for the £12 plan, I was forever getting error messages, and this was happening not only on my laptop, but also on my phone. So after several attempts, I phone up Vodafone and said I've been trying to renew online blah blah blah, and I was told that the £12 plan wasn't available anymore. I told the bloke on the phone that I had an email come through offering me two options, the £12 plan and the £20 plan. He put me on hold for several minutes and came back and said that the email was sent by mistake(utter rubbish), but that as the email said the £12 plan was available, then Vodafone would honour that, so here I am for the fourth year on the £12 plan. If I get the same email offering both plans again later this year, I will expect Vodafone to honour it again, however, I expect that I'll have to phone in again.
