DCB have emailed me a copy of their completed N180 (only for the claim where I admitted to being the driver) asking me to call within 7 days if I want to discuss settling. Presumably ignore this and wait for the Court to send me an N180 to complete?

You were expecting that weren't you?

Item 7 on that checklist you were following when you filed a Defence says...

Items 8, 9 and 10 on that list might be worth another read too.
Thanks Keith, I had read it and have just reread it, including 8,9 & 10 but.........if more than 4 hours pass after reading it generally gets mentally filed for reading later
  • Interestingly, I have received a single letter (for only the ticket where I have admitted to being the driver) from DCB Legal which arrived this week but which I have just noted is dated 24th September - so taken at least a week from the date of issue.
    This letter confirms:
    • contents of defence review and client intends to proceed with the claim.
    • Directions Questionnaire enclosed.
    • WP 'in order to assist the court in achieving overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle the case. Therefore in the case you wish to discuss settlement, please call.....'
I can't see in the Newbies Thread a 'what to do' in this case - please be gentle if it is and I just can't see it. Thanks in advance.

That letter seems to match the one mentioned in item 7 on that checklist you were following when you filed a Defence...

  • Hi, Have received the N180 DQ and, although I have looked through the Newbies Thread, think there is a new question (Document is dated 07.24):
D1 - Suitability for Determination (without a hearing) - If I disagree with this, I need to explain why - should I agree or not and, if not, what reasoning should I give.
Thoughts would be welcome - need to return this on 22/10/24.

Please read the NEWBIES thread again.  In the N180 section (in bold) I beg people not to ask about the 'new' two year old questions and I provide 2 links about D1.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Sorry, I think I am going to frustrate you further. I had already seen the N180 link which shows the question I referred to, but there is no apparent guidance as to how one should answer it. I assume I had answer 'no' so as to avoid the Judge deciding immediately in their favour but my uncertainty results in my question.
  • Interestingly, CNBC posted the N180 to my old address, despite me having previously written to me at my new address - any angle or mileage here? It obviously got to me only through a redirection.

Use their case admin email and give them the correct address for the service of papers, ditto with DCB Legal if they don't have it

The D1 reply was given by Ldast recently in another thread, Which is why you should read other threads

Have you notified all interested parties of your new address?
  • Have you notified all interested parties of your new address?

All correspondence I have received by post in the last 5 months has been to the correct new address until CNBC wrote with N180 5/10/24. Presumably VCS/DCB would have provided them with the details when submitting their claim? Claim form dated 6/8/24, which appears to have come from CNBC is addressed correctly. Wherever I have been asked to provide my address, I have given my new address.
